Ok you missed his other buddies taking down and beating the fuck out of the cholo's friend(1:20-1:30), so his friends did help and a few got to hit the main dude with skates.

You know the funny thing is, he did a demo at a skate shop I used to work at and after he skated the ramp and tore it the fuck up, he read some of his lame ass poetry in front of everybody and had tears in his eyes.

The gangbanger took a couple nice shots in the face/head with the trucks of the skateboard. I'm sure that stunned him a lot more than most of the punches.

The skateboard can be a seriously deadly weapon. You have the metal trucks that can easily break bones if swung hard enough. Then, you have the tail of the skateboard which usually ends up being sharp from the tail sliding... it forms a razors edge over time.

My opinion, this gangbanger got off lucky because if those kids wanted to really do damage, that guy would be drinking through a straw the rest of his life or left for dead.

Any jury that convicts a kid for beating someone to a bloody pulp who had a gun pulled on him should be beat also...

A lot of people wouldnt help you if you were just being jumped. His friends jumped in when there was a gun involved. They put their life at risk for him.
