Rochard, I agree, this situation did not happen overnight, and it is not going to get better overnight.
It also seems sad that rather than try and find a reasonable way to have a constructive conversation with differing viewpoints it simply gets referred to as "you whiny liberals with your messiah" vs "you gave us Bush, so you started it"...
and lastly, what is so bad about Europe liking us? Or any part of the world liking us?Comment

Ron, wounded enemy? Third world country, UN embargoed, not even attempts at developing nukes...
this is the Arch Enemy of the United States of America??????
Between us boys, would be Iran pursuing nuclear program if Sadam was knocking their doors? he kicked Iran ass in the war, and for Iran Iraq was much bigger threat than USA. We untied the hands of Iran by invading Iraq.Last edited by NoComments; 07-22-2009, 08:15 AM.***************************************

I like what Obama has done so far... I expected it to get much worse, so I'm rather happy that things are going so well. You can actually see an end to this recession, cool!
But man, I am so damn glad I didn't vote for McCain. I mean, how embarrassing would it be to have Palin as VP now?
Just one of many reasons why they lost..
Yeah, still today.. Obama over McCain any day of the week.

Actually, he did promise all of those things except 10% unemployment.
You were too busy staring at Palin's ass to listen to what he was promising.
Only Republicans and the Obamabots think that the world can change overnight when it took six years of Republicans running the show to get here in the first place. The GOP doesn't really want anything to change, they just like to keep pointing out that there is no change although plenty of change is taking place before our eyes.
It's refreshing to have a President that is doing what he promised voters.
It's painful, but he warned everybody of that, too.Last edited by epitome; 07-22-2009, 08:32 AM.Comment

6 months in office and the biggest spending president of all time.... and the economy gets worse, significantly worse.I'm happy
This economy was heading for the shitter long before u knew his name. It's got to hit the bottom for it to rise again. Business 101, go read it.. and he's been in office a whole 6 fuckin months..if he turned it around in that short of time..he would be a fucking GOD.. give'em a break man...go make some damn cash
Are you stupid or something?Comment

I was wondering the same thing.. At least 12clicks is trying to have an honest debate.. Pussyman just looks like a fool.
All I'm saying is, this shit takes time... if his ideas don't work, then it didn't work, we vote in another President, this is not rocket science.
I'm open minded enough to allow Bush in and see what he could do..he failed BIGTIME!
If after 4 years, I don't see changes or progression, I will say the same thing.
SO look Pussyman, have a real debate, or STFU your breath stinks like shit, even over the message boardComment

I don't know about getting worse, my 1st 6 months of 09 are almost double what I made in 08...economy is looking up for me, maybe because I'm not crying about shit and I'm rolling up my fucking shirt sleeves and gettin' busy.. do the sameComment

Our Economy is worse, "significantly worse".... in what ways? Remember, worse.. after he became President and took office.. How about you just name 1 way?
You can't say unemployment, that failure started to happen well before Obama came around, it just happened to fall when he came in.

If the stimulus money was actually stimulative, and it was actually getting out there, yes - we'd be seeing results. But he hasn't done that.
The money has by large been spent on pork. It's stimulated very little.
Had the stimulus been spent on actual stimulating the economy, it would have stimulated so much more.
You liberals champion Obama for the food pieces that he's brushed off the table; I call him a failure for leaving so much to rot on the table to begin with.Comment

Is a large part of the pork, like 98% of the money was spent on pork?If the stimulus money was actually stimulative, and it was actually getting out there, yes - we'd be seeing results. But he hasn't done that.

Serge,
Your point about iran v iraq is well taken...
Sure Iran wanted / wants to be a "player" in the world political scene but it's worst fear for decades was Iraq and Saddam....
Former Leaders, Former State Dept. officials from republican and democratic admins said not to go into Iraq - you will open up a can of worms visa v iran that will be tough to get a handle on..
Obama is doing just fine for his first 6 months in office - what more can we expect.
We had a complete and utter colapse under Bush.... At least we have a president now with some damm brains and sense

While Clinton (who I will always love) was one of our smartest presidents ever - he had some personal flaws and I do bring them up when talking with fellow dems and others.
I could care less what people do in there personal life, i.e. sex, etc but I did have a problem and was embarrassed when clinton was doing it on our time in the white house..

What does that have to do anything? A charge off is when you don't pay your dept and the issuing bank clears the money from it's books so it's not an asset.
They still go after you to collect.. so it's nothing different than what has been happening way before any problems came around.
"Despite the gloomy economic forecast, credit card delinquencies fell slightly last month. Delinquencies are monthly payments more than 30 days late. Private-label cards also showed a significant decrease in chargeoffs from 7.1 percent in April to 6.9 percent in May."

So now you're pulling your facts from a commercially-driven credit card website ( http://www.credit-land.com/news/news...790476_179.php )
And I bet you think they economy is better because the white house says that fewer people are searching on google for "economic depression" ?Comment

It all began when Louis XIV implemented the Court system. The Government Employees need the Government to keep spending to keep receiving their salaries. Cut spending they lose their jobs, it creates a cycle which they will not break themselves. Only we, the tax payers could legitimately stop them. However no one's that bright and thus we perpetuate the cycle.Comment

If Obama slowed down, went about doing everything the right way and was open to more people's ways of doing things, and compromised, some of his promises may start holding water.
But so far he's promised everything and the kitchen sink, and nothing's sticking. Same thing with health care... the "WE HAVE TO FIX IT NOW" mentality, and there is no consensus even among Dems on how to do it.
The more he speeds through his goals the more damage he is going to cause along the way.
Are you all serious not worried by the record debt we now have? RECORD DEBT. This crisis wasn't caused by Bush. It was caused by borrowing more than we could pay for. And that sort of behavior is getting more and more serious.Comment

Not worried about the dept, it's not real.. I can make my company be 100 billion in debt too, it's really easy. Or I could do something like.. for every 1 hour of work I do for you, I will charge you my rate, but on your books you put double the rate. That way, I "appear" to be in debt to you, but I really paid you.If Obama slowed down, went about doing everything the right way and was open to more people's ways of doing things, and compromised, some of his promises may start holding water.

And why not get healthcare going? It took Canada like 15 years or something for them to Iron it out. I would "never" expect, even if the best person in the world was running, to get healthcare off the ground, perfectly or even half ass good.
Speeding it up.. gets the ball going quicker so the bugs can be dealt with quicker.

This talk and interest in health care is a great thing. Our system needs improvement. However pushing for votes before law makers read the material and have ample opportunity to debate and improve it is a bad idea (referring back to the stimulus). Not worried about the dept, it's not real.. As to debt, I don't understand what you're trying to say. It sounds like you're talking about manipulating numbers to make the final figure look more attractive. But no matter how many numbers you fudge, the US government is still going to owe all the trillions of dollars it is borrowing. Even Europe is afraid of our spending. We are destabilizing our currency. We are printing money. We are risking inflation in a time where wages and jobs are falling. Think BIG PICTURE. How do people not see this? How are more people not worried wanting to slow down and stop the spending that we don't know how to pay for?Comment
