Need feedback & opinions on some art

So these drawings were done by my 14 year old daughter. She knows I post on some boards and that I had posted some artwork of a friend of mine before. She requested that I post a few of her drawings for some opinions and feedback. I was told my opinion doesn't count because I am her mom and I am biased. LOL.
There are some classes she can take at the local community college starting in September at night in art and she is wondering if it is something she should pursue and what class she should take. I think she is too advanced for intro into drawing and would like her take some painting classes but again my opinion doesn't count.
    Thanks!

Am not expert but this looks good. I think she has filling for proportions. Most of the kids paint unproportional humans, wwell not just kids, me to

I don't know what those classes look like, but sometimes is good to take time and learn from begining so you don't miss things later. And that way you get good basis. But again if that intro lessons are way to easy for her get her on something more advanced. Good luck to bouth I am not very helpful, I know

Actually any comments help. I think she does amazing for being completely self taught. At 14 she doubts her own talent and any positive feedback is going to make her realize I don't just say she is good because I am her mom.

The best is thing is that you show her work to someone who has knowledge in the area with kids. I really don't remmeber how I draw in that age. But again her drawings look nice to me. I think that the most important thing for her is does she like to paint, if she is really atracted to that then it is worth investing time and effort.

That looks great... at any age level.

My recommendation coming from a fine arts background, pick her up a good set of prismacolor pencils and pens (not the scholar set, those are very firm points to work with for the style she has), and encourage her to practice, practice, practice. With the proper tools, and a lil sweat and dedication, your artwork can come alive.

Like Munki sad, practice is the key. That will bouth make her technic better and will awake some artistic spirit in her.

I have gotten her the pencils, acrylic paint and oil paints. She hasn't done too much with the oil paints yet. She draws constantly and has a bunch of flash art my tattoo artist friend gave her and a magna drawing book that she consults from.

Would you suggest she starts with the most basic classes or take one of the more advanced classes. My daughter is little miss contentious and knows the classes are expensive so she wants to make sure she picks the right one. I cannot even draw a stick figure so I really don't know what I should steer her towards.

If she's never had training... go with basic, your instructor should be able to gauge her technical experience and move her up if/when necessary. A major part of art instruction is not "learning how to draw", it's developing technical expertise. Even some of the best "sketchers" have no technical expertise which holds them back. You can't build a skyscraper without a rock solid foundation. Stick to the basics until they are second nature, then start getting tricky with it.

The pictures above are amazing sketches... with the right technical expertise in place she can learn to shade and blend colors without streaking (takes longer then you would think for most people) and turn those into professional renderings.

She has the raw talent... technical perfection isn't far behind with some solid hours and practice. She already is, and will develop further into a pretty amazing artist.

She has talent that's for sure. As someone with a fine arts background as well I second what Munki says. Support her talent but don't force her to take classes she doesn't want to take, you don't want her to get burned out if it's not something she wants to pursue.

I went to art school and they make you start with the basics no matter how talented you are. It is amazing how much you learn about color, materials, etc. and it really helps you advance quicker because you are not making all of the mistakes and reinventing the wheel. She will also learn new mediums that she may never have discovered on her own.
Have her take the basics at community college or something so you are not paying top $$, then she can take the advanced stuff later when she knows the areas she wants to focus in.

I'm not an artist and I can only draw stick figures. But even I can tell she has some natural talent.

I especially like the pixie characters, they're very well done.
