Funny how "french" canadians do not celebrate bastille day

????????

Please tell me why?

If they are "french" why not celebrate the national fete that is bastille day?

Good question. I looked it up and from what I gathered it's because Quebecers were under British rule before the French Revolution took place so it never became embedded in their culture.

That makes sense I guess.

But I still don't get the whole "french" shit round quebec and new brunswick. yes they are of french decent but mexicans do not say the are spanish. They are canadian, not french.

They don't even speak the language properly

Thats not my point.

Whenever i'm talking to someone and they aren't able to understand me (because they are apparently french) they say "sorry I am french" so I speak french and they still don't understand me.

Can't they say, "sorry I only speak french" or, "sorry I only understand quebecois or acadien"

Or shiac?

Well practice your french... You probably don't even know your family history. Do you think most americans or british people know their history? No, so get a clue and move on.

Bastille day is the National Celebration of France, that's it.
