Verizon FIOS support on twitter!

Today I had the 25/25 connection hooked up from Verizon FIOS. I posted about it on Twitter, and within a few minutes I had a message from someone offering help "to get things done." I started reading his responses and see he has helped quite a few people get support tickets pushed through quicker. Searching even more I see there are a ton of the Verizon techs on twitter!

Interesting use of twitter from a large company like Verizon. Kudos verizon!

Lots of the bigger companies have support staff on twitter full time now. AT&T used twitter when their line was cut in Silicon Valley. You will find Comcast, Home Depot, WholeFoods, Starbucks and a lot more on there all to help customers out.

Pretty cool. He was able to push an order through for a quicker release date.. and saved me an hour on the phone. I like it!

I find it kind of pathetic that people have to go else where to find support for the service besides provider's domain. had very bad experiences with Verizon ISDN back in the day - seemed like their tech's didn't know anything about the service they were supporting. Not pathetic of you but rather their support services.

There is a lot of business to be done on twitter as well and not in the form of spamming.
