2257 contacting DOJ to avoid record keeping

I have read that you don't have to keep 2257 records if you contact the DOJ & essentially let them know that your site is not doing anything that would violate the 2257 regulations. Did I read that right?

Does anyone know how this exception to the 2257 works, and has anyone here contacted the DOJ to use this exception?

Thx.

If you are not doing anything to violate, then just dont keep the records. Make sure you know EXACTLY what content you need records for.

Calling the DOJ and telling them you dont need to keep records because they dont apply to you is like calling the FBI just to let them know that they dont need to arrest you for being a terrorist, since you dont commit any terrorist acts :/

do u really want to go off heresay when it comes to your business?

Know the LAW.
Research it and then u will see for yourself- that our solution is the best to meet your needs.
You use OUR address in the Valley to OUR law office for inspection purposes.

Not to mention we built a bad ass solution to upload your files.

Generally, that is correct. I think it would be inviting an inspection for an adult company to contact the DOJ/FBI to file the necessary docs for the exemption. That part of 2257 really applies to mainstream companies.

For anyone that saw Bruno -- I was told there was an 18 USC 2257 Compliance Notice at the end of that film. Did anyone watch the end credits ?

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I do know that they definitely did 2257 because the girl on our newest site Honey White has a part in the movie at the "swingers party". She had sex on film for the movie Bruno (though they cut the graphic parts out and only used a very few seconds of the footage).

And the producers didn't even know about 2257 and ended up calling her a week later and sending someone over to her house with 2257 docs for her to sign.

I called the DOJ and asked them if they wanted to inspect the content and the records for my new black bareback, creampie, double anal shemale movie. They said I got a "pass" and to stay out of trouble. But before the guy hung up, he whispered his email address to me.

;-)

Thx guys. I hear you that contacting the DOJ seems odd & like calling the police to say you're an upstanding citizen, but if it would save the hassle of all the 2257 BS, sounds like it might be worth a letter.

Yes, 2257safe looks like a good service & prob'ly makes it easier, but if one letter truly could cover you, that's a huge benefit.

i called the DEA to tell them to ignore my latest shipment of 1400 tons of cocaine into the Long Beach California port.

Gotta remember to follow that up with a call to the IRS to make sure they ignore some upcoming bank deposits.
