Man, mucho thanks for your post. When I first discovered GFY I was happy as a clam in a mud flat. Finally (I thought) a bitchin' board, without all the bullshit and cliquish attitude that I'd find on other, more 'mainstream' boards.

But then, after a coupla weeks of reading and participating, I started to notice all of the idiotic 'gay' jabs and 'jokes.' At first it didn't bother me, but then, after awhile it started to piss me off. The irony of the situation seemed so loud; meaning, here we are working in one of the most fringe bizs possible, dealing with sexuality and being open to enjoying sexuality and producing erotica and porn for the masses-- and there's still all the homophobic bullshit you'd expect to find floating around some monster truck ralley in Texas.

So I started visiting GFY less -- only popping in occasionally to see if there was anything important that was related to the biz (which usually always shows up here first) and biting my tongue at the various 'queer' and 'oh, that's so gay' posts. But your post today inspired me to speak up and say 'fuck the idiots,' I'm gonna stay around and participate.

It probably doesn't need repeating, as I'm certain most intellignent folks realize this already, but what's so funny and 'revealing' about the homophobic posters is a basic Psych 101 understanding of the situation. Many psychologists attribute harsh reactions to gays (and the 'idea of gay sex') as a kind of compensatory or definsive motion within the psyche, to shield the homophobe from their own homosex longings or curiousities.

Of course this can be shrugged off as erstwhile Freudian spinning -- although, I've gotta say, that -- having prefered GAYSEX to HETSEX for the last 25 years of my life (and being an observant human being) -- that the het men who react the most strongly to 'gay sex' (or effeminacy in general) are almost always dealing with 'issues' regarding their sexuality/masculinity. Not to say that they are closeted gays -- only that something in their development left them with a weak sense of their "maleness." To make up for the definciency they will often attack anything that appears externally as a weak, poorly formed sort of masculinity; which then shores them, making them feel good about something that they essentially feel (secretly) bad about.

Whereas hetero men who don't have reactions are indiffernet to the idea of gay sex and the homo lifestyle. It just doesn't rattle or pique them, as there is nothing lose or cocked within their unconscious that troubles or haunts them about their own sexuality.

For myself, I don't hate heterosexual people and I don't have any opinion about HETSEX, other than enjoying watching het porn every now and then because some of the guys (Ron Jeremy withstanding) are hot and massively hung.

Anyway, sorry for the psychoramble -- but someone needed to mention it -- and thanks to your post, I found the right opportunity to do my 2 cents on the subject.

I'm glad some people don't like gay porn.

Most of the stuff I promote is straight. I put very little effort in promoting gay, but gay makes up like half of my income. The ratios are so much better than straight porn.

Archer, the "gay homosexual" reference is most likely from Cartman's character in Southpark. It's an animated show on Comedy Central, basically satire and how far they can cross the line of political incorrectness. In case you didn't know.
