Greatest singers/song writers.

Spending so much time at home I get lots of time to listen music to and watch music DVDs of singers and bands. And it struck me some people have a way of putting to music some incredible words or poems.

Here are a few that I like, who do you like?

Bob Dylan
Cat Stevens
Ray Davies
John Lennon
Joni Mitchell
Graham Nash

Probably a few more, so who did I miss?

Paul, I agree with all on your list but I'd also have to add Harry Chapin, Paul McCartney, Neil Young, Carol King & James Taylor.

I belive that you are going to get the name of every poplular singer here. There is no thing like "the best singer". Simply different people like different stuff. It is like you have to choose the best car. There are different types and they are good for different things. And if you ask me I like Eric Adams singing but that is just my choise.

Not familiar with a lot of Harry Chapin so maybe it's time I should take a look at his stuff. Paul McCartney, a great pop song writer but not in the league of the others. People like Neil Young, Roger Waters, Carol King & James Taylor.

A lot of it is down to taste.
