Just to throw this out to start more shit. :)

1. Fedor has one more fight with Affliction
2. Dana just stated he wants Fedor, again.
3. The new season of TUF is nothing but Heavyweights, big fuckers over 260lbs.
4. Fedor only wants one fight, UFC wants 6 fight deal
5. Fedor doesn't like the Championship Clause, wherein he's champ he has to stay contracted.
6. Kimbo got knocked the fuck out by Roy Nelson on this years TUF. <<< Rumor.
7. Cain and Carwin are two viable opponents for Lesnar and next in line.

My personal views are that Lesner will be the man for a very long time. Someone mentioned Bobby Lashley, and he is also a specimen. Trains out of American Top Team, and is slowly making a name for himself. He'll be in the UFC pretty soon.

BardMan 07-13-2009 11:26 AM

kimbo will beat him at some point i bet

Lesner has no class. Best pound for pound fighter in the UFC is st.pierre without a doubt.

i also don't like the guy, horrible personality.

People said the same thing about bob sapp and now look at him, he recently got beat by some LHW. Although lesnar does have a lot of wrestling experience but then again bob sapp is nearly 400 pounds. There's plenty of guys way bigger than lesnar and they can't even make it in MMA, plenty have tried and failed.

Fedor is 230 pounds, Nogueira is 240 pounds and they've done amazing at HW. Not everyone is made for MMA, you can't just say they are huge so now they just need to learn and they'll be unstoppable. Well you can but you'd be wrong. I'll be amazed if lesnar can hang in there much longer as the champ. He only has 5 MMA fights and already lost one. Frank Mir isn't the best BJJ guy either.

Lesnar hasn't exactly been given the toughest fighters. He fought Frank and lost his first time in the UFC, Frank hasn't looked all that amazing after he got in a accident. Randy sure doesn't have the best record and fought a lot at LHW, he's just known for beating guys he wasn't suppose to beat. Heath is experienced but has his fair share of crappy fights and losses. When lesnar gets another 10 or so wins against good fighters then that might be the time to talk about what a badass he is.

brock is pretty bad ass. Frank just had no answer for being on his back that fight. He made no effort to turn over and give up his back which he should have done and grabbed brocks knee for a bar or tried to. frank had nothing and showed nothing sadly

What fight were you watching? Mir went in for a half guard sweep, and tried for the knee, he also went for an armbar at one point. Have you ever been under a wrestler with good top game?

Lesnar himself said he saw stars when Mir's knees hit him for that short period of stand up.

I was just going to say the same thing. I will enjoy watching Fedor kick his ass. :thumbsup

dig420 07-13-2009 12:52 PM

Also there is something about his fight with Heath that bothers me... at one point Lesnar just charged Heath wildly and stuck his shoulder in Heath's stomach, and Heath immediately went for a guillotine that looked fully applied to me and then just he just let it go for no reason that I could see at all. It was a split second thing and I don't like to call work, but to me it looked like Heath snatched him up and let him go totally inexplicably.

If I got lucky and grabbed up some charging monster in a good guillotine I would live or die with it right then and there, I can't think of ANY reason why he would have let go of that before even applying pressure with it.

When it comes to MMA knowledge Anthony is the very best on this board. I know a lot of shit 1st hand, but Anthony surprises me daily with what he knows.

Furthermore when you actully train in BJJ, MMA, wrestling etc, you really have a unique perspective that Lazyboy Chair fighters dont have.:2 cents:

Meh I trained in BJJ for a good while, I don't think that makes my opinion any better than others that seem to know what they're talking about. There's also plenty of trainers that never step in the ring and hardly ever did but they are damn good trainers and smarter than just about anyone when it comes to MMA. Hell many of them can see things many fighters don't and never will. I guess they aren't really "lazyboy chair fighters" though.

????? You are kidding right??? You wont find one MMA trainer or BJJ trainer that isnt good or at one time good at what they teach!! Who the fuck wants to learn from mma or BJJ or Kickboxing from a guy with zero accomplishments???

If you have not trained in BJJ you cant teach or train somebody in the BJJ aspect of MMA!!

Your statement really says you dont know shit about training or teaching BJJ or shit about MMA!!!. Who did you train with? where did you train? You dont!!! you proved with your post!

Big john Mcarthy trains BJJ, Joe Rogan is a Brown Belt in BJJ. Every good announcer trains BJJ, thats how they can call the fights so well.

MMA isnt football!! All because you see it and or play the video game good doesn't mean you are qualified to teach it. You show me a guy that teaches BJJ or MMA without any personal experiences and i will show you a broke ass fraud!!!!! I cant tell you how many mother fuckers i have twisted up and smashed who thought they knew how to fight or teach fighting!!!! They came in and did not believe that BJJ was real and i showed them it was!!!

Keep in mind i have been in BJJ and the fight game since 1990. I made a living teaching BJJ and MMA. I have worked with all of the big names within their 1st years of training. You want to know why they came to me to learn??? Because i was able to twist them up and submit them within 1 minute!!! I was one of the very few people in the world giving private instruction to top american fighters in the 90's. Do you think they would pay me to teach them what i know if i could not tap them??? Back then the Brazillians would not show shit to american MMA fighters. Eric Paulson who trains Lesner and who is a very close and personal friend of mine, got thrown out of Rickson Gracies studio when he fought pro in Japan. I almost got tossed out of the Machados when they found out i was training "Jerry Bolander" and a few fighters out of Lions Den. I had some serious bad ass brazilians that wanted to put a stop to me teaching american Fighters way back then.

I know what im talking about and you clearly dont know shit!!!!!

Why is he bad for the sport? Every sport has or had an athlete that isn't well liked. Baseball had barry bonds, basketball had dennis rodman, football has anyone from the raiders (including their fans) ;)

If we gonna talk trainers, GSP's trainer impressed me with his style during
match up with Alves.

Most corners seems to have two trainers yelling different tactics like "your doing good, keep going" -

Or the ones who lie "you are doing good you won this round, he is tired" and the
fighter has been beaten to the bones.

Firas Zahibi`? = I cant find any images of this man.. but very impressed by his way
of working with GSP

His name is Greg Jackson, and he is one of the top trainers in MMA.

From GSP's blog

Quote:

Round four, when I came back in my corner I told my trainer Greg Jackson that I pulled my groin. All of my trainers are very worried. Greg Jackson answers back to me, ?I don?t care! This is how champions are made! Fight on it and hit him with your groin! I thought I was kind of funny (afterward) but it was not funny during the fight. The fifth round starts and in my head I have only one thing?not getting hit and winning the fight. Be able to survive and stay there until the end. The round starts and I tell myself if I only try to survive, I'm going to be easy prey, so the best defense is an offense. So I make sure that he respects me by using my jab on his head. So the fifth round starts, I throw a couple of take downs and even though I was in a lot of pain, I was able to control the fight and win in a unanimous decision.

Christian was my Muay Thai coach at a place called Tama Martial Arts in Dayton, Ohio in early 2000 (2001-2002 sounds about right). I know he likes to move around a lot and he was only at Tama like a year and a half. I sparred with him a lot when he was training to fight in the light heavyweight division of Toughman, and he ended up winning the tournament and moving on to their version of nationals or whatever they call it. He ended up moving to Indianapolis I believe and I never heard how far he went, but he was also undefeated in kickboxing at the time. He really was a great coach and I was always curious what happened to him...
