I have a 65" rear-projection TV that needs a new bulb. I just had a new bulb put it in 2 years ago. Is 2 years about all you can expect from those bulbs???

I just figured I'd get more then 2 years of service out of that bulb. I don't watch that much TV. Makes me think it might not be the blub after all. The repair guy will be here in the morning so I'll find out soon enough. Weird shit.....Comment

the "repair guy" is probably giving you used bulbs, or something else is shorting them.

you sould not have any problems with it yet, mine is over 6yrs old and had bulb once, still love it and I hate to move it because its heavy

I have a 73in mitsubishi dlp,had it for about 6 month then the screen went blank but could still hear sound, called them up and got a free bulb because it was less then a year old. Hope this bulb lasts longer =(Comment

I've had a 65" Mitsubishi that weights pry 500 lbs lol. Anyways it's like 7 years old now and still kicking. Never have replaced a bulb in it.Comment

This is a common problem with certain Toshiba DLP's. My brother is having the same problem.
There was talk of a redesigned bulb at one point that might get you a little more life out of it. My brother is thinking of ditching his for an LCD.
