Who posted recently that they had the flu? Have any of you on the night crew had the flu yet this year and if so how long is this seasons flu lasting 24-48-72 hours? I may be coming down with it.

I dont get sick eithers, except a little runny nose or something, but hardly sick!
On the other hand, my ex g/f got "sick" every 5 days and had to skip a day of work and sleep all day. I could tell it was all in her head.Comment

I started getting a sore throat around Thanksgiving.. Yesterday, it was full blown head cold almost like allergies..
I laid in bed all day yesterday and drank lots of fluids..
Feeling better..

Go get a flu shot! You'll be glad you did. Of course, I got one this year, then less than a week after got salmonella from some poorly prepared chicken in a local Applebee's. I know that's nothing that a flu shot can help with, but what irony.I like pie.Comment

King - whatever you do, DON'T get a flu shot if you think you have it! That would be most bad.
My dad got the flu awhile back and had the shit for three weeks... but then he didn't take any time off from work and do the "bedrest and fluids" thing, either. My advice? Get your ass to bed, lots of orange juice and other clear fluids (apple juice, Gatorade, etc.), vitamin C (up to 5000 mg a day according to my doc, but only while sick), and try burying yourself in blankets and sweating it out.
Like Fletch, I don't get sick, other than occasional sinus problems... but I am a mom and knowing about sick stuff kinda goes with the territory. Hope you feel better soon!

I might agree with you guys about it being all in my head. But how would you explain my 15 month old daughter getting it. Poor little thing just wanted to drink her milk and nothing stayed down. She spent a whole day throwing up and holding her tummy.
Now we are both taking our vitamins and echinacea everday. Definitely helped beat the cold a little quicker.
