The real problems with the current state of porn
Seems like everyone's quick to jump all over youtube saying that it started the downfall of porn and how tube sites are so bad yada yada but I never hear anyone complaining about how lazy pornstars and producers have been getting as an overall trend. It's true, observers of the LA scene have seen the trend of laziness increase over the years. Every girl wants to be the next Jenna. The paysite just ain't what it used to be. We see all these new launches flopping etc. Overall, I think the problem is the same that the movie and music industry faces. And always they blame it on the consumer or the pirates. What about delivering quality? What about making films that people will pay to see? The adult biz needs more epic titles like, ironically, "Pirates" with Evan Stone. The days of close-up shots and cock slapping are over. Stories, character, depth. We need a new breed...

its always easier to blame someone else... in this case, its tube sites, before it was TGP/MGP sites, then it was free sites.
who knows what will be the next trend, but we will all look back then and think "wow, this is nothing like when tube sites came out, at least we had a chance of making money" ![]()

The problem I see is there really isn't that much promotion going on. How will anyone know you have anything new out if you never promote it? I know this girl whose agent will not return her calls and will not email her back. I told her he's lazy like many other agents. NOT ALL. But she is in a hit movie and no help at all from her agency. She also didn't get any help during the recent F.A.M.E. weekend. She had to set up her own booth and everything herself with not even a peep from her agent. I asked her a year ago why no press releases from her agency about her new movies. She contacted them and they didn't return her emails and calls. So I told her to write her own press release and gave her the formula for how to write a press release. I also gave her the emails and sites that run press releases and she got into most of them including AVN & XBiz.
![]() The biggest Z-list Hollywood wannabes get treated like rock stars in mainstream Hollywood while well known porn stars get treated like shit. One of THE biggest female porn stars didn't get a birthday party or even a mention by her own two best friends this year. She said on her Twitter that fans from her social networks remembered her birthday but her own friends, boyfriend, and business associates did nothing. You have more promotion for the newest sex toy than you do when they show up on a mainstream show. You usually hear about a mainstream appearance hours before or hours after it happened. Sometimes it's never released and you hear about it weeks later. How else are their fans suppose to know what's new in their favorite porn star's lives if it's never released? Their official blogs are rarely updated. Their Myspace blogs are rarely updated though many don't even own their own Myspace accounts. Many performers trust their handlers to do what they said they would do but it's rarely done. Many fans are turned off with the shit that's going on in porn like pissing, slapping, gaping holes, and extreme porn where it's clearly visible that the girl is not enjoying it at all. Fans are also turned off when they find out the girl doesn't even run her own Myspace and once again had her domain stolen. And I repeatedly keep on hearing how many prefer watching porn from the 70's and 80's compared to the porn put out there today. The powers that be should take a look back at what was good 25 years ago and incorporate that into today's porn and see the turnaround that will happen. |

Porn can't be compared to mainstream film. They are totally different. Mainstream has a primary and secondary market and porn doesn't. Until you bring back adult theatres and actually get people to go them most sales will have to come from rentals and websites.

That's why girls like Jenna and Tera only made videos here and there. It allowed them to get behind the latest product and use the promotional machine to push it. - PornAddict |
