At least one person is still doign this! Someone is spamming the fuck out of one of my Wordpress blogs. I keep comments to an approval only basis because I get amoxicyclin comment spam almost every day!

I get about 10k of them a week. I was going thru them daily and deleting thru phpmyadmin. Thankfully I had the sites coded so trackbacks are no longer possible. Almost all are for pharma.
