I Need A Little Help Please

OK I'm having a wierd browser problem. This just started happening tonight when I uninstalled some DVD copy plus program, that should really have nothing to do with my browser.
I have ie6 and run xp home version. I have never had any problems. What is going on is if I have 1 window open and I click a link on any page the new window button appears in my tool tray like it is going to open, but the new window (or site that I should be going to) never opens??
Even if I right click on a link and chose to open in a new window, the same thing happens.
Any help would be great.

Thanks in advance

Even though it does not look like a virus, you should scan it.

Reinstall the DVD program you deleted. Maybe when you deleted it, it also deleted some shared files that other programs need to operate.

Hopefully reinstalling it will replace them.

If all else fails, format c:

Thanks, I do know about the system restore. Actually I just reinstalled the dvd program that I had uninstalled, and everything is back to normal and working. It's fucked up though that a dvd burning program that didnt even fricken work would have had this effect on browser windows opening??..oh well it works now and I usually have to format a few times a year, so the next format will get rid of this worthless program and not effect other shit...
Thanks for all the replies.

Nortons Sucks.

Doesn't catch half the shit thats out there.

AVP Pro is good.

For all in one..I use Fix It Utilities.
Have a Virus scanner built in that detect all viruses, trojans, worms..etc..etc.

Last time I checked..
Nortons didn't check for trojans..thats why I got ride of it.

To redo the system when a rebuild won't fix it, just reinstall Windows OVER itself and then go make sure all of your patches and updates are still functioning at the ms updates. We have one system that hasn't been redone in almost 5 yrs and it runs like a top. (did the reinstall thing twice)

Doesn't XP have the rebuild thing JUST for IE? Go to remove programs, choose MS Internet Explorer and it should bring up that option to remove or rebuild.
