we looked into this alot.
here is what we found. 1, the same amount of people at the very least are trying to join. 2, bank declines are up by over 50%. So basically, it's the credit card being denied by the credit cards own internal security protocols. I tried even joining myself and was met by a bank of america phone call 3 minutes later. The good news is people are still trying. The bad news is the credit crunch is the reason why things are a lil slower.
Were seeing less declines this week which is a good sign.

Same here. This is looking to be the best month this year for me across the board. Memberships, clip sales, among other things. That said, I have changed the way I do some things. So it is not the status quo.
I have been tweaking and testing new things all this year. Apparently, finally hitting some groves on new techniques in marketing, new sites, designs, SEO, and productions. Nice to see. Especially in this economy.

Here's what happened.......it happens every year around this time, forget the economic crisis or outlook....
All the kids are out of school. Moms and dads are spending money on camp, sports, etc.... Moms always tired, dads always broke and tired.

last week of may and all of june. We had a few record days a few days ago though. Go Figure.. But it's definitely scrubbing, and not the fault of the billers. The billers are bitch to their underwriting bank, and the underwriting bank is bitch to the credit card company. A would be sale can pass right though all fraud databases without a hitch but for some reason, the credit card companies are definitely throttling the joins. My hunch is that this is a temp thing as we're seeing more consecutive big days.
Basically, this is what happens in a global recession and when credit card companies charge 35% interest, only to have people default on the payments, leaving both parties in a lurch. It will correct itself, it always does. Hopefully sooner than later.

I've had some issues with Paypal (being in 3 different countries within 3 weeks is a no-no with them) so I had to try to pay some bills with my credit cards, it proved impossible, 4 different cards all with $0 balance and high credit limits, all denied time after time, wtf?!?Comment

From people I have talked to, banks are not calling card holders over mainstream transactions of only $30 or so.
If banks are calling customers over joining a site, this has to have something to do with the cross sale stuff. They are not calling you if you buy a few DVDs at Target.
