for those with experience on the matter, is it better to keep your relationships within the business (bc your counterparts UNDERSTAND your lifestyle, job, etc) OR is it best to stay as far away from it as possible when looking for a mate?

I've had boyfriends who have not been cool with it, and that can suck, I've also been out with guys who get overly excited when they find out, and that kills things for me too. I think it's all about finding someone who understands, not necessarilly someone in the biz. My current man friend is down, he's not in adult, but he is in internet and had been in online dating. I don't know if that helps or not, it has caused a few arguements...

I've never dated within the industry but I know people who have and I've heard their greif first hand of seeing an ex at tradeshows, etc and I wouldn't want that. I like to have the option of never seeing my ex again if I choose to. I guess it goes back to the old saying "don't shit where you eat." :winkwink:

MY Fiance is definatly not in the biz but she is understanding that for me its a Business NOT a lifestyle.

I gave up the lifestyle end of the biz years ago and find I make way more money and life is much more laid back for me.

so for me it works

and for those who know me I have done some crazy shit in this biz
