I am done buying new vehicles. You can usually by the same model but a year or so old at a HUGE loss to the original owner.

True, a year old car is 40% less then the new one, but you don't get that new car smell or knowing that some one has been farting on the driver seat for a year.

Don't buy a first-year production vehicle.

Have you own loan set up in advance. Also, do your homework. Last car I bought I checked out the car, went home, figured out how much it was worth and how much my trade in was worth, went back and talked them down.

Never ever hand in your car keys when your trading in a car. If you do, have a second pair on you.

Don't let the salesman play the 'stall-and-wait' game...where he says, "I'll take that offer to my sales manager and see what he says," ... while you sit there twiddling thumbs.

At that point I either say, "Get your sales manager in here and I'll deal with him since you're incapable of authorizing a decision," - or I simply walk out and go elsewhere.

The car is for the wife, she wants a Honda Accord. I went to http://www.fightingchance.com/ and got the details on pricing. Now need to get the loan approved and then I will start calling the dealers, no tread in so that is one less issue.

Extra Tip

If you want all the goodies of buying a new car, but at a discounted price, I would opt for a DEMO. If you can find a DEMO, you're good! You'll get the full warranty with the pricing of the vehicle AFTER the INITIAL depreciation of driving it out of the dealership lot. I just got myself a new vehicle (DEMO) and got a $7500.00 discount.

Only thing, is that it's not easy to find demo's, be ready to put some work into your search!!

GOOD LUCK!!
