      It's all about ratings for Letterman. He really needed her to respond like she did.

      For the first time since 2005 Letterman beat the tonight show for viewers. Letterman has a shot with Leno moving to prime time....

      He simply took a page out of the Limbaugh play book.

      Palin also gets a bunch of attention and to go on talk shows.

      The real losers in this might be Willow and Bristol who were the brunt of the jokes.

          Typical Palin grandstanding and opportunism by calling Letterman a pervert for a joke he made about Bristol Palin getting knocked up. I guess Sarah forgot that her 17 year old daughter Bristol DID get knocked up:







          Letterman has made it clear that the joke was about Bristol, yet Palin has been running around characterizing Dave's joke as suggesting it is about her 14 year old daughter being "raped".

                  Couple issues with all this. Letterman is a comedian all the way. He's not even trying to double end it like Bill Maher. She's a fucking beauty queen who's running a fucking third world state that's just a buffer for a Russian invasion. That aside her daughter got knocked up and she's she's an abstinance republican.

                  On top of all this and things I won't mention unless I'm forced to because I don't want to put in the effort, she was actually a actual real possibility to be a Vice President of our Country.

                  I just think she's a scary bitch. I mean I'd hit it, I'm not about to be a hypocrite, but I'd do the same thing her son in law tried to do and get as far the fuck away from that family as I could. They are like the Alaska Hillbillies or something

                                  I think they are both loving this. Letterman is loving the attention and potential ratings that is coming with this and she loves the chance the push the culture war. The republican party is in shambles and she is working hard to be one of the new leaders of it. Part of the party thinks they need to go back to pushing to satisfy the base and fire up the culture war with full on attacks on the social issues that the hard right wingers love to harp on. If you have seen some of her quotes she is saying things like, "liberal Hollywood doesn't understand how the rest of America thinks." and yesterday I saw a former republican congresswoman on CNN talking about how poor Bristol is just 18 years old and she doesn't understand how the world is so she should be left alone. Apparently some 18 year olds are mature enough to fight and die for our country, but others are too fragile to take some criticism when they get knocked up at 17. So Palin is using this just as much as Letterman. It is keeping her in the news and giving her platform to help invigorate the base she hopes will support her down the road.

                                                                  The problem is Dave Letterman doesn't want to crack any Obama jokes and is still trolling for laughs using old news Sarah Palin. His staff didn't do their homework, plain and simple, and it was Palin's 14 year old daughter with her at the Yankees game. CBS knew they fucked up too and edited the transcripts before Sarah Palin even said a word!

                                                                  Just leave all the kids of politicians alone; they did Biden's adult daughter when a tape of her doing cocaine was being shopped around. No interest whatsoever in that and Biden (like Palin and abstinence) has numerous clips talking about the evil of drugs, so yes it's a double standard.

                                                                  Bristol shouldn't be joke material either. Kids will be kids, kids will be dumb, and kids will make stupid choices no matter how a parent raises them. The actions of kids don't speak about how good a parent is, god knows my parents were awesome parents and look how I turned out! (haha)

She was 17 at the time.. no uproar over that one..

                                                                                                                                                  It seems to me after everything I read, that it was Bristol Palin who wanted the relationship to end the most. Levi Johnston said something to the effect that Bristol completely changed after her mother was chose as the Vice-Presidential candidate. It's pretty amazing how much influence and power Sarah Palin must have over her daughter. One month Bristol says how she doesn't believe in abstinence, and then two months later she changes her mind. All politics of course. I guess she can't think for herself. Unlike say, Ron Reagan (President Ronald Reagan's son), who is a liberal with entirely different political views than his Republican parents.

                                                                                                                                                          Chelsea was 18 at the time when McCain made that Janet Reno was Chelsea's father joke, I say that because people have been defending Letterman making Bristol Palin jokes, so if McCain is somehow to be mentioned as meaning anything in this debate I would imagine it would be from somebody calling for Letterman to apologize to Sarah Palin like McCain apologized to Bill Clinton for telling a joke about his adult daughter.

                                                                                                                                                          Two decades ago a person on Rush Limbaugh's television show staff got fired for inserting Chelsea's photograph, the photograph was supposed to be a photograph of a dog and not Chelsea. Should the joke writer on Dave Letterman's staff get fired to have similiar context?

                                                                                                                                                          Ashley Biden has been a campaign prop like the Palin children. She spoke to crowds for his campaigns as well and I suppose that means she lost her public figure status, yet when her drug abuse came to light after her father preached against illegal drugs his entire career it wasn't news. Same with Al Gore's son and whenever both men are mentioned their kid's mistakes aren't part of their biographies. That's a double standard.

                                                                                                                                                              Chelsea was 18 at the time when McCain made that Janet Reno was Chelsea's father joke, I say that because people have been defending Letterman making Bristol Palin jokes, so if McCain is somehow to be mentioned as meaning anything in this debate I would imagine it would be from somebody calling for Letterman to apologize to Sarah Palin like McCain apologized to Bill Clinton for telling a joke about his adult daughter.

                                                                                                                                                              Two decades ago a person on Rush Limbaugh's television show staff got fired for inserting Chelsea's photograph, the photograph was supposed to be a photograph of a dog and not Chelsea. Should the joke writer on Dave Letterman's staff get fired to have similiar context?

                                                                                                                                                              Ashley Biden has been a campaign prop like the Palin children. She spoke to crowds for his campaigns as well and I suppose that means she lost her public figure status, yet when her drug abuse came to light after her father preached against illegal drugs his entire career it wasn't news. Same with Al Gore's son and whenever both men are mentioned their kid's mistakes aren't part of their biographies. That's a double standard.
                                                                                                                                                              It isn't a total double standard. Remember when the Bush twins got in trouble for underage drinking. Bush was asked about it and he said it was nobody's business but he and his families and that was the end of it. When you mention Bush you don't talk about his kids doing things like this.

                                                                                                                                                              I think people mention Palin because she stands for abstinence only education and is living proof that it doesn't work yet she continues to stand by it.

I loved the way it backfired durring the VP debate when she accused Biden of not having the same point of view and understanding she because he hadn't raised a family as she did.
