i'd only consider paying 2+ yrs revenue if its a mainstream site that's ~10 yrs old that has a solid history. for adult sites that aren't that old it's usually just a few months revenue, so i'll pass on this one.Comment

Not always true, Alexa bases on Page Views... I've seen sites with 5,000 daily have a 15k alexa, all because it's a board and gets high page views per user.Comment

I don't take too much notice of Alexa rank - it's not a very accurate indicator of how much traffic a website is getting. As far as I'm aware, the basis of Alexa rank is the frequency of visits to a website from users who have the Alexa toolbar installed, which I'm guessing is a pretty small number of geeks.
Also, some of my websites have a far worse Alexa rank than others but still get much more traffic. I know a guy who recently had a mainstream site with Alexa rank of around 100k and he was getting less than 5k traffic per month. I guess you can never tell for sure without seeing the actual traffic stats.Comment
