Lord Sugar - British politics at its finest

So, flailing Gordan Brown has appointed Sir Alan Sugar as enterprise 'tsar', thereby making him a Lord. This Sugar guy, who is prolly most famous for his TV series "The Apprentice" (note, US apprentice is a copy of the UK version), is a billionaire businessman who made his money during a crazy property market period, not for his crap Amstrad company.

Anyway, just found this excellent letter from Sugar that he wrote in the Financial Times back in '92

I think you're wrong about the US version being a copy of the UK one.

And he's not classed as a billionaire in the UK either.

Interesting letter indeed. It's been a main news item in the UK tabloids here for a day or two.

I'm waiting for the tards on the tv to say "Thank you Lord Sugar for the opportunity" when they get fired. Yup, I do agree - however, which takes precedence, lord or sir? I'd think Sir, cos that's given by the monarch, in which case it will always be Sir Alan, pfffft
