I went to get a site developed with them, they said they could not only take on the original project but 2 others as well and meet the deadline. This was 60 DAYS AGO and the site which I listed as priority as STILL NOT ARRIVED. I only managed to get the other 2 designs because i managaed to get in cotnact with the designer she had outsourced the work to. Then I find out that this designer as fucking not been paid $4,000 from month before. He ONLY did my designs because he knew how important thwey where to me. HE STILL AS NOT BEEN PAID.

I did some research turns out they are hiring graphic people getting them to do the work on a salary basis and then NOT paying them. So not only are they FUCKING people like me but also fucking the graphic designers.

Traci (bibali) = who is the owner and posts here fucking went on holiday the week my designs was due and when i contacted her said there was nothing to do. SO she is going on holiday while paying NOBODY.

I was working for Liquid... And they owe me money... A lot... 6K is only part of it. I've been working for them for the last 4-5 months and I've done almost all of the work that is their portfolio.

I designed the winning "Private Gold" contest site... I didn't even know the price for this contest was 7K.. All they told me was that it was for a contest, that i would get paid to do the design and get a bonus if I won... I did the design, won the contest for them, they got all the glory, all the clients from that publicity on GFY and all i got was a lousy $400... Why? Because all this time they told me they never got paid... that they never received the prize...

Yes, I was stupid to believe them... But at this time, I was just a biginner in the adult freelance world...

So I kept working for them... building sites for their clients... Yes, they did pay me every now and then... but they forgot some paiements... i didn't yell... I was paitient... They told me they would pay me... They told me I had to finish this or that job to get the clients money so they could pay me... the money never came... only bits here and there...

But now my patience has come to an end... They owe me 6K and this is without counting the prize from the Private gold contest...

I know they owe other designers a lot of money... I guess i'm the one they owe the most... They have lied to me all the way... They took the money from the clients whom I did the sites for... and kept it for themselves...

What does that mean? Does it mean I can go see those client and ask them money for the site I did for them? Tell them that LiquidByDesign never paid me and now those sites are copyrighted to me?

I dont know... Does someone know what can be done?

Did you sign any contract/agreement with them? Depending what it say. You probably have the legal rights on the designs

You shouldn't have much trouble getting work, especially if you designed the winning site for Private Gold.

I went with liquiddesign based on the PrivateGold design

For what it's worth, I have been telling Traci and others that that private design is one of the sweetest I've seen. It is still better than any other design in the icecold portfolio

Well then you own everything you ever created for them, and they did not pay you for. They basicly stole it. Contact the site owners and tell them that they baught stolen designs. Witch they did cos you own the rights for them as you where never compensated for you're work. It's just like someone wants to buy you're car takes the car and you never get payment, you never signed a sales paper for it so the car is still registered to you. They stole it, and would be taken by the police this is just about the same.

Youd think it wouldnt be that complicated. Lets say its a job that costs 1,000. Just give like 700 to the designer, and the broker keeps 300 for finders fee, customer service, etc.

But these brokers seem to want too much of the pie and get caught with their hand in the cookie jar

ya know what? there are way too many 'brokers' in this biz, people who produce nothing and don't have any money to their name so they are hiring people to do work knowing if a client doesn't pay or is slow to pay they can't pay their contract workers.

that is just low.

i can see a designer taking a full time job with a design company because well it's a steady job and if the pay is ok or good. But this contract stuff looks really bad for both the people doing the work and for the clients. I go to Liquid by Design and I am impressed with the Private Gold design so i decide to hire them, they don't tell me that I am not going to get that guy's work, they go out and find some other person who may produce crap.

go set up shop for yourself and charge minimum $1500 per site, once your name gets out there more, bump it to $2,000.
