The three main lessons that I have taught my children that have served them well are:
1. You never get anything in this world unless you ask for it.. so don't be shy about trying to get what you want.
2. DON'T trust ANYONE! Especially someone that you have just met... EVER! Trust is something that absolutely needs to be earned over time and experiences. I told them that if they don't want to get scammed then this is my number one rule to follow!
3. Karma is real. Treat everyone with the same courtesy and respect until they give you a reason to do otherwise. If someone is difficult then try to mirror their actions and you will have a better chance of dealing with them. Sometimes loud, rude, inconsiderate or selfish people will run all over others until they are put in their place. Politely showing someone how big of an asshole they are is an art but one that is so enjoyable if you can pull it off. A simple way of teaching your children Karma is to have them "Treat others as you would want them to treat you."
