    Anyone from NYC? is Hells Kitchen near times square?

    me and a friend we want to go to nyc for a weekend.
    He found a cheap hotel in "hells Kitchen" which sounds like a creepy area. is it near times square of far?
    the hotel is $125/night so real cheap

            You should be okay, manhattan is pretty safe since so many people are usually around. People who live in manhattan have money, except the people in public housing.

                Hells Kitchen is a nice neighbourhood and about a 5 to 10 minute walk from Times Square

                    Hells Kitchen is pretty much the best unknown area in NYC for Good food, i was there a few days ago for some awesome japanese. Its a 5-10 minute walk to Times Square and is a very safe area with tons of cool bars and places to eat

                            It has, dramatically. We lived in Hell's Kitchen for years before it got gentrified. It's a completely different neighborhood today.

                            The realtor's name for it is now "Clinton". Amusing, because "Chelsea" is the neighborhood to the immediate South. So if you're around 34th Street on the far West Side, you're effectively spending time in "Chelsea-Clinton".

                              Ah the good old days. I used to buy traci lords videos right across the street from the NY times building. Sadly the personality of times square is long, long gone.
