Do you think oversaturation kills sales? Opinion Please

I used to promote a sponsor with great ratio, everything was fine. Now after 2 years or less that sponsor is the most worst ratio sponsor for me. The ratio is increasing every month after month.

I think since lots of fellow webmasters are also promoting them, I'm getting less sales. Is this theory correct?

I've read somewhere (not sure where) that nastydollars, bangbros ratios are not affected (or very less affected) at all by saturation. Thoughts?

A huge chunk of my sales comes from ccbill and ccbill is scrubbing every credit card these days It seems. Should I stop promoting CCbill sponsors at all? I really need your opinion.

No, not Juggcash. A amateur softcore sponsor. Don't want to name them and really no point in naming them

Juggcash was also good for me 2 years ago now 1:7800 or so with them. Stopped sending traffic a few months ago.

yes i think over saturation affects sales, in my experience.

True but the more saturated sites seem to convert at a more steady ratio while most of the new sites start to really suck after the honeymoon. At least for us.

Also I actually don't think it really hurts ratios too much as after a while instead of saturation you could call it brand recognitian. Braz, Bang and RK are still pretty steady for us.

It can work both ways with oversaturation, some sites will actually become so saturated that surfers will seek them out on an affiliates site whilst others get saturated to the point that everyone has already seen them and want to move on.

When this starts to happen it is typically a good idea to email the sponsor and suggest a redesign of their tour to make it 'fresh' again.

Coca Cola, Sony, Panasonic.. the list of horrifically oversaturated sponsors can go on and on and on.

I would recommend dumping the term "over saturation" and replacing it maybe with a more gentle "stale". Ads can become stale, pitches can become old, the tour could be very well known etc.. All a bit stale after a while maybe.

Make new templates, link to a new tour or to the same one differently (if possible), make custom banners so the surfer doesnt remember the one you're using from 10 yrs ago.. etc etc.

Just trying to encourage to take the bull by the horns and refresh the experience of the surfer as much as you can yourself.

There are so many sites nowadays surfers often do not even know whether a site is fresh or not, it is not possible to view and remember them all anyway. They bite to the fresh concepts, but not to the fresh sites - if a site is new but looks like 100000 other sites, it won't sell any better simply because it's new.

Also surfers tend to value brand names more in today's market, probably because of the oversaturation - knowning brand names helps them to make a choice.

                            I couldn't agree more.....
sometimes it is just the luck of the draw (when they finally sign up to check it out)....seeing a site (branding) over and over again being promoted lends some credibility to the site...i have seen it over the years with certain sites that have been here since 96-97
                            nothing to promote
