I want to setup a couple review style sites with all those weird movies I use to watch and weird music I use to listen to, something as a hobby, I want to do it on my own.

Having the latest word press installation and the theme I want to use, there's a bunch of manuals about what to edit / how to work the themes etc. so I should be able to somehow orientate myself in this.

BUT what editor would you recommend to use?

Would need something with preview in it, am not too big in coding, will I be able to add menu items / ad spaces etc. on my own?

You can also use Dreamweaver to edit themes. There are a few tutorials on how to do so. Just Google them.

Be sure to look into widget ready themes, and widgets to use in them. You can customize a lot of the ads in the sidebar or ratings etc using widgets.
