Groupon is coming to my neck of the woods so I'd like to get your impression of it. Do they really deliver good deals?

It's mostly restaurants $25 for $50 of food. stuff like that. But there are also deals for paintball, massages or other things.

I've had some good deals on mine, like $25 for $50 at Nordstrom Rack, activity deals, etc.

The restaurant deals aren't that great. For good meal discounts, restaurants.com is where it is at. They have $25 certificates for around $2-$3 when you are on their mailing list, thanks to their promo codes.

I've gotten dozens of groupons, just depends on what comes about for your area. Some deals are just alright, while others are really great offers that you'd otherwise never be able to get anywhere else. Groupon generally expects the business to offer their product/service for a minimum 50% off, and Groupon takes around 50% of the reduced product price as their fee. So basically, the business is generally providing the groupon as a loss leader marketing tool since they are only ending up with 25% of whatever they are offering.

I bought a bunch of different ones, we get offered a lot of spa/massage/facial and restaurants. Had some odd ones lately but I've saved over $200 with Groupon.
