Say what you will about Ozzy but at one time he was a at the pinnacle of all that was cool in the world of rock and roll and wrote more than his share of classic rock songs. It's to bad that over the years for whatever reason he has turned into such a shadow of himself and has been positioned into playing either the bumbling fool we saw on the Osbournes or the caricature of his former rock star persona. This looks to be pretty dark.

The Entertainment industry is littered with causalities that no body really gives 2 shits about after the hoopla of whatever derailment they are entangled in is over. Ozzy is a uniquely tragic figure. The reactions on this thread speak to that. People either love him because of his music but hate his lifestyle or love him for his lifestyle and don't really care about his music. Interesting paradox.

The greatest Ozzy story ever:

1984 Ozzy and Motley Crue on tour.
At a hotel, Ozzy runs up and steals a tourists suitcase and disappears.
Returns later to the swimming pool, wearing a dress he had found in the suitcase.

While everyone is laughing, he jumps to the ground, ass in the air, and starts snorting an entire line of ants walking on the pavement. Then stands up, pisses on the ground and starts to lick up his own piss.

Then he tells Nikki Sixx to try that.
Nikki whips it out ans pisses on the ground, but before he can stop, Ozzy jumps to the ground and licks up Nikki's piss

It was due to the fact that at the time he was seeing a psychiatrist who had him LOADED on all sorts of psychiatric drugs. Yes, the legal drugs. I saw some interview with him like a year later when he got his meds situation straightened out and he seemed rather lucid and generally "with it."

Of course it has something to do with it but the fact is he was hopped up on tons of pharmaceuticals when filming the Osbournes show. And that had the most obvious effect. So what - - he was a raging alcoholic for many years. That doesn't make you retarded. Tranquilizers, however, do.

Should be good, Can't wait...Ozzy makes no excuse for his being the way he is. he will tell you that he did way too many drugs and booze in the past... I am glad to see he has it somewhat under control now... Thanks to Sharon coming into his life when she did...
