Enough people do this and it will work but I don't think anyone really wants to do anything more than play lip service to this subject.

I can't tell you how many ass kissers I see on this board kissing up to person a or about product b and they suck.

I don't want to start any drama or have everyone attacking me over the company in question, so I won't mention specific names but I bought a software product that no less than 20 people on this board raved about and kissed the owners ass over and over again on several different posts.

But truth is, the product is a total and complete piece of crap. Their documentation sucks, their customer service is non existent and in the end, people are still kissing this companies ass on their board because most people are sheep.

The same kind of thing goes for content theft. How many of people on this board fall over themselves to kiss the ass of a large site / affiliate program who we know for a fact allows illegal tube sites to be affiliates?

I think the difference is (and I could be wrong here because I didn't look into that 100%) is the legality issue. Owning a tube site isn't bad - but owning or supporting one who steals content seems to be where we need to draw the line.

I think that Twistys surely doesn't own a tube site who steals content. But I could be wrong so don't hold me to that. :P

As far as the Mike South part of the post goes, you are right. If he is in fact promoting Brazzers then I think he is a total and complete hypocrite for supporting the very thing he condemns you for.

We can't pick and chose our ethics based one some guys friendship with someone else. Either you support illegal tube sites (aka tube sites who steal content) or you don't.

He was quick to jump down your throat for taking money from a company who steals your own content but in reality he is doing the very same thing. So someone needs to remind him about the pot calling the kettle black.

If anyone wants to seriously take a stand they need to stand strong across the board and yes that includes supporting ANYTHING Brazzers related, if what that post says is true and they have been proven to be the owner of an illegal tube site.

This includes any of their affiliate programs. Any site they host. Any site who uses their affiliate program. The web hosting company they use.

All of these.

Until enough people take a real stand like this then nothing is ever going to change.

We need to know WHO is doing WHAT- all the dirt, all the details, so we can make it be known PUBLICALY Who these offenders are!

Stop supprting buisnesses that deal in tubes, affilated with tubes, and anything tube related!

EVERYONE has to make that stand though. It's not gonna work if a few people do it- everyone has to be committed to this action.

Someone needs to create a illegal tube black list, listing very specific reasons why a company or site is on the list.

ie: (FAKE EXAMPLE ONLY) CompanyA - Owns a tube site that has stolen content on it from Penthouse, Hustler and Vivid.

Website1234.com - owned by ComapnyA (link to company A entry)
PersonBBB - This person shoots content for them, depsite knowing they support illegal tube sites. (Give some sort of proof / dates, etc.

Sounds like a great idea, but also a very slippery slope. Someone at that point essentially acting like a judge and jury. what if you get something wrong?

Also, you are talking about money here. Standing up and being against something all by yourself can be very costly, especially when there are people standing in line to take your place or more importantly to take your customers.

At the PHX party last night I had this exact discussion with someone who is a hosting professional. If he dumps clients accused of hosting illegal content because people call him out on it (when in reality, a host has an extremely difficult time policing content on their servers), there is another host perfectly willing to pick up that client, no questions asked. In this instance, you are out money (probably significant funds) but you feel all warm and fuzzy because you stood up???

It doesn't work unless it's en masse. It would require everyone all at the same time, but it would absolutely require every one of the heavy hitters without a doubt. Miss one of those and it's like a leak in the dam.

Blacklisting/boycott does not work. Webmasters will go with who pays, adult surfers will go with who can deliver for free or cheap.

There are other ways to deal with this problem, though ill only discuss that with anyone who contacts me.

You are right and that really was the point of my original post. People love to talk a good game but when it comes down to it, they kiss the ass of the people with the money or the massive amounts of traffic and that is why we still have all those illegal tube sites.

Because people talk out their ass and really do nothing about the problem.

As Eric pointed out in his post, someone (Mike South) who just went on and on and on and on about how horrible it was what Eric did but then he himself is doing the very same thing, by doing business with a site who owns and supports illegal tube sites (Brazzers).

There's always gonna be someone who's a leak, nothing's ever 100% espicially where finance is concerned.

The point would be in making everyone aware, that yes, it will hurt at first, but it will even out over time.

Once things get out of hand, it's very hard to revert back and have them they way they where before.

ie. my example with clubs.

One the forgien strippers came in, the industry got fucked LITERALLY & when we tried, years later to clean it up- it was too late, the damage was done.

Clubs that went clean, went under...
and those who stayed filthy whore houses, got shut down...

Where I live, just outside of Toronto, we had 7 strip clubs spread across about 20 miles, (4 towns) that was 5 years agao- you know how many we have in that same area now???

i know a lot of club owners around Toronto Area, and they are all on hard times now dealing with this shit!

Clubs that where booming 10 years ago, now are struggling to stay alive!

Because they took long in acting on the issue. The damage was done and there's no going back to the way things used to be.

Let me tell a story that might help with this situation.

There are a lot of strip clubs where I live and a lot of competition from them to attract the customer. But to some point because of the over saturation you will only get what customers you have despite having the nicest place, the best girls and sexy advertising.

Knocking down the weaker competition is what happens in this case. A club will do a number of dirty tricks to kill the competition. The most favorite is to book dancers who don't show, send over underage customers, send over loud and obnoxious guys, canceling beer and liqueur orders, parking garbage trucks in the parking lot, filling the parking lot with junk cars, and so on. Now, dirty tricks are not illegal but might give the club owner that needed rise in business they need due to the competitions misfortunes.

I guess there could be some illegal actions a club owner could take to knock out a rival business though I will not elaborate on what those could be. However, I know that once a club is shutdown for a period of time it is very difficult for it to recover customers and come back to what it once was.

Most club owners though play nice and don't do anything to piss off the other club owners. Like nobody would run a dollar Beer special more than night a week, or offer $5 steaks outside of happy hour. The clubs tend to have their own niche as well and tend to not step on each other. However, a new club that comes in and steps on everyone else's toes will find themselves with problems they never expected to have.

You have friends of his also posting mainstream press releases trying to get our industry under scrutiny by the media seems realllly smart to me right? No ulterior motives considering they own a piece of shit forum that gets 8 posts a day. Id love to have the gov come in and tell us how to run things. I worked in one club as a 'house girl' that was literally right across the street from another one, the guy across the street was always sending cops to our bar, and causing so much other shit- I can't ethically go into detail with it in a public forum, but it was all based on competition and spite.

He WAS 'that new guy' stepping on the toes of the older, more established business, in the end my club got busted for some major drug shit in the end

As I stated I'm too new and green to know much of anything about anyone, but also because I'm not anything special, I have nothing to lose by hosting such a list and making it accessable to those who wish to view it.

If anyone where interested in making such a list, I would gladly take on the posting and updating of it as things changed over time as they where passed on to me...
