Anybody else a kitchen gadget freak?

I don't collect many things but I can't help the urge to try out all sorts of kitchen gadgets. Bread machines, pasta makers, smoothie makers, microplane graters, pestle and mortars etc..I want it all! My most recent purchase is an ice cream maker which I have been using to make low fat frozen yoghurt.

Anybody else a kitchen gadget freak and what is your most recent gadget purchase?

An omellete maker (throw in the eggs, cook, add shit, flip and cook some more).

Well, it sucks. I'd rather use a small to medium sized frying pan.

So really just a pan that flips (like those pancake things that were the craze a while back) or something separate from the stove?

I'm not big on useless appliances I use 3 times and then they take up space on the counter.

Kitchen gadgets I use : Crock pot, blender, food processor and a mini chopper for things like nuts and garlic. I also have a george foreman grill (is that a kitchen gadget? lol) that I use frequently. It's great for making things like bacon.

If you've seen it on TV, we have it in one of our kitchens.

My favorite are our 2 Kitchen Aid mixers with all of the hookups. One of which is an Ice Cream maker.

Yeah, I like things I will actually use too. I have all of those things. I use my mini chopper way more than my actual food processor. Foreman is also good for using as a panini press.

The only thing I have is a food processor. Other than that, I like old school cooking without gadgetry. However, I only buy the highest quality pots and pans (All Clad) and am addicted to that for sure.

I had a combination steamer and rice cooker and I used the steamer every day and never actually got around to doing rice in it. I now have the Star Trek version of a steamer..really is awesome.

Seldom do the gadgets work as well as they do in the infomercials but the George Foreman Grill is the exception. I'm on my third one getting ready to buy my fourth.

I never cook outside, its just to convenient to plug in the GF grill. I use it daily and sometimes twice a day

Never owned one but hearing that your getting ready for your fourth makes it sound like a POS anyways. I can perhaps understand how some may not want to grill outside (though lets be honest it is frying). Can not wrap head around why anyone would need anything more than a cast iron pan or perhaps a cast iron flip top griddle/grill. Either one would last lifetimes, be easy to clean, and well cheap.

I am not one for many gadgets either. Closest things I can think of to gadgets that we have purchased this year would be a pressure caner (just a super large pressure cooker), and um a food mill. I do have things like a kitchen aid, ice cream maker, slow cooker, spice grinder (technically a gadget), coffee grinder, and such. Things like those I really do not consider them gadgets same as a mandolin or mortar and pestle.

I have a lot of small kitchen appliances. Most have been used enough to make a purchase worthwhile, others I would like to use more... unfortunately I don't have enough space.

Rice cooker

Microwave

Toaster oven

Crockpot

Breadmaker

Rotisserie

Waffle iron

George Foreman

Food processor

Hand mixer

The rice cooker pays for itself every week, LOL. I use it at least twice a week. Everything else is off and on.

I'm not normally a kitchen gadget guy but I do have a funny story that fits this

Ok so it was about 3 years ago I was drunk in a bar (yeah I know of all places to be drunk right?).. So I've been going to this same bar for a few years and I notice they have this new pizza cooker right at the bar and it looks more cool the drunker i get that night.. so fast forward a few hours from then I'm still drinking at this bar but I get out my smart phone and get on ebay and put a bid on one of these things..

The next day I'm checking my email accounts and see that I was the winning bidder of this and I laugh my ass off cause up till the second I read the email I didn't remember that i bid on this..

Moral of the story be careful while drinking cause the stupidest things can look cool when you are drunk

Presto Pizzazz Pizza Oven

Real moral to that story would be.
Do not drink while having access to another gadget like a "smart phone". Yes a smart phone is a gadget and nobody really needs one.

On the contrary.

This goes back to the original first one he came out with has to be 10 yrs or more which still works but is small, like 2 hamburger patties.

Second one someone gave me as they had never used and was given to them. Still works but don't like it , does not have temp. controls on it.

Decided to buy the third one which has removable plates and temp. controls. I have used it for well over 5 yrs. most days once a day sometimes twice a day. It quit working a few weeks ago. I got more than my moneys worth.

Seriously,
the two patty sized foreman grill is a bachelor or bachelorette's dream.
That thing saved me, nightly, in college.
I ate rice, steamed veggies, and chicken from the foreman grill... probably 6 days per week.. my freshman year.

LOVE our george foreman grill.

My friends mum is a gadget freak end of. Anything cool looking she buys it. She has all the crazy stuff in her kitchen for cooking with. BBQ's are also a lot of fun at their place due to the insane stuff she has to prep things lol

As for me, I have a foreman, kettle, microwave, oven, hob and toaster. Don't really need anything else.

I used to have alot more gadgets but got rid of alot when I moved. I have just the basics:
Microwave, toaster, toaser oven, mini chopper, blender, hand mixer, crock pot, fry daddy and GF grill
I really want to get a KitchenAid stand mixer.
Used to have a really cool omelet pan but don't know what happened to it.
