I am not a fan of Star Trek at all. I ended up seeing it last night and it wasn't really that bad. I enjoyed most of it. It was way better then, Wolverine.banners, HTML5 banners, Bluray/DVD covers, full page ads, half page ads, headers, logos, 100% responsive galleries, SEO optimization, social media mgmt.

Caught the midnight show last night - loved it!
It is a restart of the franchise, so everything you need to know is there, and really well done. But for the fan base, it is chock full of references and winks, and the characterization is dead-on in my opinion.

I haven't seen it yet but just from previews and whatnot, it seemed to be about the beginnings of Captain Kirk and the crew so you probably don't need to have watched the original series. I myself grew up on TNG and original series was way before my time, but I'll probably see it soon anyways because it does look very well done.
