Did the US intentionally leave behind POWs?
The boy and I watched Uncommon Valor this weekend. It was his first time of watching, probably my 50th, as it is one of my all-time favorite movies.
Anyhow, the whole concept of POWs behing betrayed and intentionally left behind by the US was mind boggling to him. It led to some pretty good conversations. I normally am not a Dale Gribble conspiracy type, but I firmly believe that our government knew that Americans were being held against their will after the war, and did nothing about it. I also believe that the possibility exists that some are still alive. What do you guys/gals think?

well my first question would be why would they "intentionally" leave behind pow's ?
I think it would be more accurate to say something along the lines of. " americans didn't do enough to investigate evidence that troops were not MIA but POW's " It wouldnt suprise me to learn they had good evidence some troops were still alive as pow's and didnt save them. They left. It isn't their country. Regardless of who was right or wrong it doesnt make sense to risk more lives to save 1 life. the whole " no man left behind" is only "if people are watching" We have pow's from afghanistan, they have pow's of ours, you dont see us saving them. Because risk outweighs reward.

did the taliban intentionaly leave behind pow's in guantanamo ?
no they lost the war and had/have no ability to swoop in and save pow's , just as we lost a war and had no ability to save pow's without great cost of life. The americans left behind were war criminals to them, cold blooded murderers who invaded their country, just as the taliban at guantanamo are war criminals to us
