That's just too good for the networks to pass up. We have season tickets for Green Bay and I'm already planning my trip to some exotic location when we sell the four for that game for $1000 a piece........

Thanks Brett!

Nice. :thumbsup

Awesome.
Roger Clemens can be the running back, and Michael Jordan can be a wideout.

Retiring and actually meaning it is just so 80's.

Brett Favre is a douchebag. Not on a playing ability, but as a person. "I'm retired, you guys move on without me." "Hey, I want to come back! Scrap all the forward progress you made and stick me back in as starter. What? You won't let me play? Fuck you, I'll go elsewhere." And it's the Packers' fault...

Now this Vikings rumor.... I read a lot of articles saying he was considering going to the Vikings, then I read this yesterday:

Brett Favre: Says NO To Talk of Return

"Despite a report he’s hired a personal trainer by the St. Paul Pioneer Press, Favre sent a text message to ESPN that said “NO” in response to a question if there was any chance he would consider playing in 2009"

This was posted online Monday. Now 2 days later he's meeting with the Vikings. Fuck him and the horse he rode in on. Fucking asshole. :2 cents:

There should be a Brett Farve version of the Magic 8-Ball.

I disagree on the point that he didn't do much for the Jets. He made a significant difference there in my opinion. They were a 4-12 team the year before, last year they were a contender finishing with a respectable 9-7 record. Hard to say Favre had absolutely nothing to do with that.

While I doubt he'd be the magic catalyst that launches the Vikings to the superbowl his presence will have a major effect on how they do this season... and how much revenue the team generates.

Brett Favre is the main reason my Dolphins went 11-5 last season.

If he doesn't go to the Jets, we don't get Pennington.

I think Favre hurt his shoulder late last year and that explains the shitty finish. Early in the year, the Jets were money, even before the offense really jelled.

Although I don't understand this comeback, if there is one, because he never got surgery on the shoulder (that we know of)

talk about bringing more heat to the Pack-Vikes rivalry

Hey Brett, not that you'll see this, or even care - but as I type, a fourteen year old boy that literally grew up watching you, a boy that adored you for years, and once even met you is now quietly stuffing every bit of your memory into the garbage can.

Would you like me to autograph it for you? Twenty bucks.

He is so 90s. He should just give it up already. This is worse than that pathetic football movie "Everybody's All American".

Minte 05-06-2009 07:55 PM

It's very disappointing. He is doing everything possible to ruin his legacy.

Mutt 05-06-2009 07:55 PM

He's really tarnishing his legacy - BUT ............. if he goes to the Vikings and sticks it to the Packers and wins a playoff game or two or gets to the Super Bowl then it works out and his legend may even grow.

About last year - the Jets at one point in mid-season were the best team in the NFL, they beat the Patriots in Foxboro - how many teams and QB's have done that. He blew out his biceps - he's 39 years old. And if he comes back for another season with the Vikings it will be something else that gives out three quarters through the season.

Absolutely no risk for the Vikings, those 2 QB's they have aren't taking them anywhere.

I hate how long the off-season is for the NFL - i have a plan for the NFL to make way more money and for fans not to have to go 7 months without football. I really wish I could contact Roger Goodall(sp?) and pitch him.

Still lots of buzz, no definite decision yet. I say he plays. His ego dictates that he's not done yet.

Snake Doctor 05-08-2009 10:09 AM

This is definitely slow news time for the NFL.

I guess they gotta fill the column inches with something
