I have a macbook pro and it's good. I wish I could sit down and learn more of it actually. I'll probably head back to Windows just because it is easier to work with in my worksetup and the things that I do.

Macs are always a good choice. Even a mac mini to play around for the first time.

The OS is the same regardless. We have an MBP and a regular Macbook.
The MBP is a bit lighter and the MB is a bit more mobile. (17 inch vs. 13 inch) At the moment though, my little Dell Mini with OSX is my favorite "Mac". |

Depends what you are using it for. I have an iMac as a second machine and it's more than capable enough to do most of what I normally use a PC for. Hell I even do 3D work on it from time to time, but it lacks in that area due to imacs having crappy vid cards.

Ahh...you're asking about a Desktop. Yes...that would be overkill. We also have one of those and while it's a powerhouse, it's REALLY overpriced.
The newer iMac will probably be more than capable of handling whatever you might throw at it. |

If you are talking about the Desktop then I wouldn't say it's overkill. It's about as powerful as a moderate to high end PC.
The Imac's are crap. They use laptop boards and CPU's. I'm forced to use one when I'm abroad and I am just waiting for the goddam thing to break so I can go put together my own PC. |
