Hip Hop is stale as hell right now but it is not dead. There are a good amount of hip hop related forums that have a lot of members who post constantly, XXL has a decent sized circulation. It's been my experience that people who say hip hop is dead are those who are still stuck in the boom bap era.Comment

then things went stale...
Then NWA came to the scene and the blew the shit up...
then things went stale...

then things went stale

That's an honest question, all the 'hip hop' videos in this thread have very simple beats - many that you could make on your home pc - with very simple raps put over them.

it seemed dead in the mainstream...and it should stay dead after that whack performance at the grammy awards, black eyed peas should stick to pop cause they suck at rap, and the rap performance by lil wayne and those other clowns...they had to cut off the sound on TV over and over again....real dumb to have a bunch of low lifes cursing on a prestigous music awards show that is being shown around the planet. It just makes americans look stupid. They should do what they did in the past and just give the rap awards before the show starts. Also what was up with all the Jayz kiss assing...all the presenters and hosts kept giving him props. Remember he got his start from dealing drugs...then he was able to start his recored label with that money.
