i have to because i like to listen to sports talk radio and that's where they are - but sometimes i turn the dial up and down to see what else is on AM radio ......... NOTHING! everything is aimed at old people, every ad is for healthcare, funerals, retirement - i guess nobody under 50 listens to anything on the AM dial.

haha that's kook radio. how can you take that seriously? i once heard Lucifer, yes the Devil, call in to that show and the host didn't even laugh, he acted like it was possible he was talking to the Devil.
oh god, if Franck could listen to Coast to Coast, he'd literally have a stroke.I moved my sites to Vacares Hosting. I've saved money, my hair is thicker, lost some weight too! Thanks Sly!Comment

If you're ever driving cross country, you have to listen to AM radio. It's like tripping on acid.
But I listen to it still for the sports like you said. I still enjoy listening to a baseball game on the radio every once in a while.jim (at) amateursconvert . com Amateurs ConvertComment

If you look at the ratings for major markets, you'll find at least one AM station in the top five in almost every market, often the marlet's heritage news/talk station at #1.....some markets like San Francisco usually have 3-4 AM stations in the top 5 (partially due to the topography of the area).
Of course, if you're a media buyer and looking for listeners in the 18-34 demographic, AM "doesn't exist" lol.

Who still listens to commercial radio? Maybe its just San Diego, but AM/FM radio sucks. If I'm in the car then it is iPod all the way. If I'm at home, its internet radio.

I listen to AM radio in the car in the mornings for news or some good talk radio. On the way home I listen to FM, but not for much longer. I'm waiting on XM Radio and an Ipod/Bluetooth setup in my car so I won't be locked down to local programming anymore.
At home at at work I'm listening to Internet radio such as iTunes, 1.fm, etc.Comment

I listen to AM everyday, far more than FM.
AM is where talk and sports radio are. There are about 6 solid english speaking stations and about 15 spanish language AM stations in my market, tho most of them originate in Mexico.
we have 4 -5 local talk shows on various AM stations I listen to ..and you can't get that with satellite radio.
personally I wouldn't mind if they did away with AM and moved all non-sat radio to FM, strictly for the cleaner signal and because all the MP3 players only have FM tuners now.Comment

I do. Mostly for news and commentary. FM here is all music with very small "news breaks" in between.Comment

I only listen--and just to sports stations--if I'm driving long distance and there's a game I want to catch.
BTW, for lots of laughs, the Christian stations are great. I've pulled into restaurant parking lots and couldn't get out the car for laughing, with tears streaming down my face, at some Christian radio program "proving" that evolution is a myth.Comment
