Depends on where that click came from in those serps. On the front page of results it will vary and do so quite extremely. I will see conversions on some terms at 1/50 - 1/75 for 1st spot on a long tail keyterm, and in 8th -9th it will be 1-2k conversions. The higher converting that top spot is, the more drastic the conversion drops as you get down the list of the top 10.

The top spot may pull 1 in 100, but the lower spots on first page (still high maintenance, intensive spots to hold) may do 1 in 1k at best.

Maybe someone whose had a lower position, AND a higher position can confirm for this niche, although I see this everyday across many terms as I slide up and down a spot or two, regardless of niche.

Its just common sense that someone isn't going to buy your shoes if you are the 10th shoe store on the street. With volume sure, but not as many as the first store (or 2) are pulling in.
