I agree. Anything that someone enjoys can go from a hobby to a full blown addiction quickly.

But sometimes a hobby can mature into a business. I bet you this is the case with most of us.

I see no reason at all why the internet let alone internet porn could be and is addictive.
GFY is addictive, facebook is addictive to some, twitter to others, myspace to some, and daddylikesanal.com to others.

Absolutely, and GFY, YouTube and my own goddam machine are things I avoid when I can. I must have an addictive or at least compulsive personality, and once I'm on I'm ON...

This is very true and for some people those things can change. I know a woman who is just like this. She got into Disney stuff when her kids were born and she became obsessed with it. She got every DVD, every toy she could find, she even got Disney tattoos. They would go to Disneyland every summer. Then she got into scrapbooking. But it wasn't enough to just do a little. She spent thousands of dollars on stamps and papter for the scrapbooks, many were only used once or never used. Then it because world of warcraft. She would come home from work, turn on the game and play it until she went to bed. She ate in front of it, she let the kids do whatever they wanted as long as they didn't bother her and she played. Three different times she even forgot to pick her kid up from his soccer practice.

The last straw came when her computer died on a Thursday. She called up a buddy of mine who builds computers and he told her that based on what she said it was either a dead hard drive or a dead memory stick. He would go over to her house that Saturday and find out which it was and they could get it fixed. She couldn't wait that long so she drove to walmart and spent $1200 on a new computer, went home and installed the game so and played - she didn't want to miss her raid. When my buddy tested it he discovered the old computer just needed a new memory stick. It was a $40 fix. Her husband came unglued because she lied and told them that the computer died and they needed a new one. Shortly afterward they got divorced.

She is a person who, if the got into internet porn, would become addicted to it, but I think the average person only looks at it when they are horny or bored.

yup. it's easy to blame something than to blame yourself...

i disagree that its inherently addictive, it can become addictive, but so can video games or social networking sites.

its sex that can be addictive. internet porn has nothing to do with it.
