If all users should have all of these settings, why doesn't firefox set it as default?

What happens if you load up like 100 tabs in a FF instance then?

How would it just minimize all that data to 10mb?

Would that create a "HD sleep" effect, where when you go to access it, it needs to 'get up to speed' thus creating a delay?

Thanks for the tips. Can't notice any change yet, but it wasn't running to bad to begin with.

On ie7 when I close it down with multiple tabs I get the option to "restore from previous session", but in firefox I don't get that? Instead I've been closing it from the task manager as it does the same thing. Is there an option I'm missing?

Go to the Tools menu and choose Options. Make sure you have the Main tab open, which shows "Startup".

In the "When Firefox Starts" drop down, choose "Show Windows and Tabs from last time"

Thanks! It was already set to that which makes sense, but I didn't like to risk it. :thumbsup
