So Yahoo teams up with Road Runner to take "www" typos!

    Type "ww.some.com"

    in your browser

And this is where you go on Road Runner :

    http://ww23.rr.com/index.php?origURL...//ww.some.com/

Looks like you can "opt out" though.

Is this new? I guess I don't type www enough to have found out.

I dont have a "ww" subdomain so I wonder if subdomains must be at least 3 letters.

Are you using RoadRunner? That's just their landing page for sites that don't resolve.

They've had that running along with a 404 override for any site without it explicitly set for anyone on the roadrunner isp for a few months now...

RR has been doing that for a while. You just have to opt out of that option.

                    404?

                    WTF????

I hope you don't mean when my domain is correct but the page is 404!!

                    That would fucking suck hard!

                    I didn't get any RR page when I 404ed my domain. I shouldn't either.

this has been going on with ISPs for some time, Rogers has been doing this for months with Yahoo. Huge profits to be made off that.
