I had to look for new insurance recently. I used to be insured by Unitrin Direct, a mostly unknown, cheap company as far as I know, that's the whole reason I went with them! Duh. So when I was looking for a place to get insurance, I submitted a quote to all of the 'underground' companies that I thought would be cheap. I always figured these type of companies were the best choice if you're the type of person that is a good driver and never needs to file a claim. I knew that if I did have to file a claim I would have some problems with said company but I'm not the type of person to be getting into some shit like that so I was fine with the cheap companies. Well anyhow I was told by a family member to try Geico, I never had any intentions on even trying any of the popular ones like All State, State Farm, Geico, etc.. you know, the ones you see in commercials all the time. For some reason I just knew these would not be a good idea and they would be expensive. Well, I tried allstate and I was right, the 6 month quote was crazy. I was thinking "I can't believe so many people see these commercials for these big insurance companies and think it is the best deal". Well, I submitted a quote for Geico, and let's just say I saved well over 15% haha, more like 50%, it's nuts. I really can't believe how cheap this is lol. I guess the whole point of this post is to make people realize that they are the real deal, they aren't just running all these commercials to get customers even though their rates are high, they REALLY the smart one to go with. I wish I had a referral link or something to give, but I don't care, I just want people to know that it's not the usual trick with them, you really will save 15% or probably more by switching to geico haha. Sorry for the run-on sentences, I'm too fucked up to split this into some paragraphs. But yeah, I just want to save ya'll some money, and this is where it's at.
Geico knows whats up, youll really save more than 15%

?????? I just made this thread because of the hilarious commercial I just saw (and my cheap price).
Obviously you drive like a woman and/or have never dealt with them, because the premiums are rock bottom.
Edit: and I know you didn't even read my entire post because you replied so fast. How about using your brain next time, you might save yourself some much needed money. cha ching

I have a clean driving record and they are considerably more than what I am currently paying for less coverage than I get now.
FYI, I didn't read your entire post either. Too much bullshit packed into one long ass paragraph.Comment

And if you had half a brain you'd realize my long run-on sentence doesn't pertain to you and your Canadian input is not needed here. God damn every time I try to say anything remotely usefull here I am shot down like a terrorist in NYC.Haha... if you even looked at my avatar you'd know I am Canadian... second, I am a Winnipegger and therefore have government sponsored car insurance... called MPI.

Finally someone that has anything worth reading to say. Well, I don't have much except for speeding tickets. I guess if you're labeled as a dangerous driver it wouldn't be a good idea to go with a popular company, which is why I never even bothered to do so.Comment

LOL I don't know why this has gotten almost 30 posts in less than a half hour.. weird. Even has almost the same amount of posts as views.
Thanks! Because post count is what counts around here! Pun intended!
Is this what happens when someone drunk on a bottle of goose mixes with some fag drunk on his usual plastic b/s? ugh..Last edited by Jakez; 04-14-2009, 10:53 PM.Comment

Not everyone will save - end of story. Even if they have the same record, experience driving, and type of car that you have.
I personally got many quotes for insurance and I get new quotes every few months when I am overhauling the household budget. My driving record is spotless, no tickets, nadda. Also over 35 years of age (37), have had license since 16. I do not live in a major city. Have a few vehicles from 1 year old to a couple that are over 49 years old. Not only multi policy, also a home owner, etc. (lots of discounts)
Geiko is more expensive for me. I actually get the best rate through progressive along with more insurance. I do not deal with the corner store insurance places anymore and have not for a long time, yet has still gotten a quote every so often. They typically just place you with whomever they sell policies for anyways, and very often their insurance is very lacking in what it covers. Honestly to many are worried about price first and not what the policies actually cover, rarely are they created equal.
Now if you want a surefire way to tell people how they can save more money on their insurance at least in the US. Just tell people to raise their deductibles. I really think having a deductible less than 1,500.00 is silly and higher is even better. I rarely see accidents or whatnot that cause less than that in damages anyways unless it is super damn minor. Yet so damn many people carry 500.00 deductibles.Comment

Posting that you saved money is one thing. Being a complete prick to those who post that they did not is another.
Don't want to feel like an asshole then stop acting like one.
