when i try update my site on freehost.xxx.com after i upload my new sites with FTP i see sill my old site for a few hours untill rhe changes take effect...
anybody know why is happening this shit?

yeah it's cuz you're french. replication in America only takes about 15 minutes;)

why this... if i use FTP to upload the files the change should appear instantly...if i'm french what is the diference?..this is a fucking shit...i've lost a lot of traffic because of that

ok well to make a long story short, we have something huge, like a terabyte sized file server that houses all of the pages and content for our freehosts. Then we have about 20 webservers to serve all the pages (about 4 million served per day), well in order to keep access to the file server down to a minimum, we've implemented a caching system for html files on each of those 20 servers so when you upload a file to the file server, it usually takes about 15 minutes for it to replicate to all the servers and hence be visible on the web. i was just explained this yesterday so i hope i got it right.....as for why it takes you hours and me only 15 minutes, i'm gonna guess it's cuz you're all the way over in france;) i wish i could be of more help but my best recommendation is to take a second to double check your page before you upload it the first time so you can avoid replication delays, i know it's a hassle but if you send me 1 million bucks i'll buy 19 more terabyte file servers, one for each webserver and replication won't take anytime at all

sorry..but i don't understand..is there any method that i can avoid replication delays? becouse i want change my script and when i do that all my traffic will be lost bettwin the upload time and the replication time..

sorry there isn't.
best advice i can give you is that all NEW pages are replicated instantly. updated pages take time to replicate

sure i've refreshed the page....i hope don't take more than 15min until they will "refresh" the pages...

not right now, but i'll look into making an online tool to replace a page faster. Please give me a few weeks though, this ISN't gonna be an easy one and i certainly can't guarantee that i can. However i will definitely look into the system and try to find a way. thanks for the suggestion.
