    Free Adult Redirection Service

Those of you that know me know I have been kicking around on the sidelines of the adult industry since 1999. I have kept to myself, done some good programming projects for people and have been content to just earn my living, read the gfy, and post now and then.

I have been talking to a lot of my friends about this project, and there are mixed results. A lot of my adult webmaster friends think I will be taking myself down by opening something that has the potential to be a spam trap and have the DOJ knocking at my door. Others think its a great idea, and if properly monitored, can be an asset to the adult webmaster community.

So, I submit for your inspection, XXXRedirect, the free adult redirection service.

The site is finished as far as the script and the general layout is concerned. I will be adding some advertising on the directory section and my own links to the adult affiliate programs I use to earn a living.

My name is on this, and I am not going down for anyone. If you sign up for this service and spam, you will be shut down, period. This was an attempt to provide new webmasters, webmasters that are on free hosts and webmasters that just want to mask long urls into a shorter form, a service for them by an adult webmaster who would be in tune with their needs and open to their suggestions. With the huge success of tinyurl, I felt it was time someone attempted this in our community while working to keep it spam free and on the level.

Anyway, anytime you post to a public forum you are open to criticism. I welcome it and hope that any of you that choose to use this service, will find benefit from it.

    Regards,

    Midnight

I have started with the following domains:

        xxxblogz.info
        xxxcamz.info
        xxxchicks.info
        xxxdates.info
        xxxfreepass.info
        xxxgayz.info
        xxxhotties.info
        xxxmgp.info
        xxxtgp.info
        xxxvideoz.info
        xxxtubez.info

when the user creates an account, say sexygirl, they can get whatever tld they want and use, for example, sexygirl.xxxchicks.info and redirect it to a single page or to an entire website using the sexygirl.xxxchicks.info as their main domain, masked in the browser.

pretty simple and straightforward to use I belive. If the service gains any popularity and use, I will of course invest in some higher quality adult .com names for use.

        Thanks for your interest.

What I hope to accomplish is the be the first to run a free adult redirection service that didn't turn into a spam haven and to give adult webmasters a service akin to tinyurl.com.

No, I am not being completely altruistic and I don't think it would take much imagination to see how this could be monetized. Someone was going to attempt this so I figured it should be me. I am sure the first person who wrote a free trade script or a tgp submitter (which I did in the midnight submitter when tgp2s first came out and everyone said tgp2s were illegal and they would be the downfall of the adult webmaster community) faced the same kind of questions.

I now see submitters and trade scripts abounding, and I let myself get talked out of all that 8 years ago. I walked away from that adult webmaster support market and I have always regretted doing so.

This is simply what it is, a proof of concept experiment, placed in front of the adult community to be approved of, questioned, scorned, mocked, or lauded as each individual see's fit. I appreciate you taking a look at the site and for your comments concerning this project.

Regardless, there are more projects to follow, and I look forward to working with gfy webmasters to tune them to their needs.

              Regards,

I could dig for a few similar adult services that were started and failed.
I wish you good luck with it but imho no webmaster, be it adult webmaster
or mainstream webmaster will use a url shortening service.
This kind of services are used by surfers (or wms in surfer mode) adult/mainstream,
and although gfy has quite a few of them, everyone knows tinyurl already or some other service.
Besides the obvious reason of shortening urls, the sole reason I'd use such a service
is to mask a porn site when sending links to my buddies over IMs
(even tho they might dig some porn they don't like bigcockdeepthroatingblondeslut.com popping up in their window).
Your urls fail even that because its adult.
So the only use I see in such a service (that targets adult) is spam.

Waiting for results anyway, you never know and it costs nothing to try.
                  Good luck.

Thanks for the well wishes. No, it costs nothing to try. Adult webmasters have learned the notorious 10-5-3-1 rule that people pay thousands of dollars to learn at the harvard school of business.

                    Start 10 Projects
                    5 will generate interest
                    3 will have serious users
                    1 will succeed

Talk to you about the other 9 in weeks to come.

It's not the first for adult; I ran xxxreferral.com way back in 1998; it was a redirection service, plus gave you a list of your referring URLs (when most people didn't know how to do that).

I wish you luck with your project, but I echo some of the thoughts already posted here; your service may become a magnet for spam; if you can combat that, I think you can do ok. I assume you've also seen link-protector.com ?

If Midnight takes his cue from mainstream redirect sites such as no-ip.com, he can profit quite well.

There are a plethora of enhanced services that he can provide for $, such as domain name registration, mail forwarding, round robin requests, server failover, etc.

It's a good idea. In earlier times, adult webmasters may not have been ready for it, but there is a market if Midnight can make his solution easy and useful.

Many .info extensions are recognized as spam related websites. Quite a few including myself have word censored .info preventing it's display.
Very big with Russian and Asian spam.

Gmail's email service is becoming a real nuisance with foreigner spammers too.

Just to name a few other extensions that are censored :

                                Code:
                                .ru
                                .de
                                .com.ca
                                .cn

                                      It is, it's ridiculous!
They create all these phony user names using god knows how many email addys. Spamming w.o.w gold along with dumping off a .info websites that contains a vast amount of goodies that have your anti-virus go berserk.

If you do not.. this is what to expect!
It's overwhelming... Open up a thread that and mouse-over the URL. This is the .cn extension I have censored. They use .info too
Obviously the staff on this message board threw in the towel.

The point is well taken concerning .info domains. Even as I hear the explanation in my head, it does sound a bit lame. From my standpoint, it was cost effective to register .info domains at ninety-nine cents a pop, making my total investment in this project less than twenty dollars to develop a proof of concept model.

I will register some .com domains and update the database as well as taking out the .info domains which I suppose are useless. If anyone has any short adult urls they want to sell and transfer to me, please hit me up via icq.

Thanks for taking the time to read this post and offer your advice. I welcome any comments concerning this project.

The following domains have been registered and are being pointed at the correct nameservers. As soon as that is complete I will change out the domains.

Yes .info domains are very cost efficient.. unfortunately their used for all the wrong reasons.

I appreciate those of you that signed up to test the system.

I have deleted all .info domains and replaced them with a few .com domains.

All test accounts have been deleted.

I appreciate the feedback from gfy members and look forward to any further comments or suggestions that you might have.

you could have added the .com's and left the .info's that were already in use active...
