Europe is full of people who "know their shit". You are not one of them - and would you have answered all my questions sincerely, you would have noticed it.
Europe is full of WW2 veterans who has enough life experience to form an opinion. There is no on true opinion, but atleast they base their opinion on expirience (which is better than nothing). I am talking about YOU and not Europe as a whole but you are a very typical European GFY user (maybe because most people don't bother thinking before forming an opinion because it saves time).
To comment about terror and war its important to know what it is in a better way than seeing it on TV or newspapers. You have to think of it and you apparently never did too much. Same as for politics. Saying Bush is stupid and US is a bully is superficial even if true in some aspects.

There is no such thing "Israel" recognizes. Oficially the country (or government) of Israel recognizes the UN as an oficcial organization but still takes it somewhat unseriously. Where are you when Innocent Irish people get killed or beaten by British police? Where are you when tibetians are being invaded by China? Think about your behavior - You sit infront of the TV or computer screen - seeing some news coverage of some subject and when it is put down enragingly enough in 10 lines (so you dont have to sweat reading) you get mad enough to write a post on GFY. Do you ever follow it with action? Did you ever sign a petition? Did you ever go to protest? Neither you or I know anything of the background or operational brief of that UN worker, but I bet one thing, - he has probably contributed more in his life than you or I. As for his "stupidity" - you know nothing of him to make any credible comment. Wonder if it's "tough luck" the day you die?

As to the worker that died: To understand the risks he took on himself - through I AGREE believing and wating to contribute to others even though its work - you have to understand the dangers and situation in the place he was killed. Its like (in many ways) a reporter in a battlefield - He is there to do, what he believes, a crucial job and doing so he is willingly takes risks. Its not to say that killing him is ok, its saying that if done in error like I AM QUITE SURE was in this case is his responsibility more than any other factor.
Its like Daniel Pearl. He died because he took a grave risk.
UNLIKE Daniel Pearl he died as an eccident, and was mistakenly shot instead of brutally murdered while cutting his head off.
As to the context and the danger I mentioned above:
Jenin is a city. Within the city there is a refugee camp. That is where most of the fighting is (not all). Jenin is a hive of terrorists and suicide bombers recruiters. Its the place where many of the terror acts in Israel come from. It is Israel's first and foremost obligation - to defend its citizens: Jewish, Muslims and christians. Israel should stop ONLY an inhumane/Imorral borders. As to Ileggal - that is debatable since the latter is hard to define in a world where its legal to let Syria head the ""security council of the world"".

Things israel can not trust is the EU and UN (especially france I guess), China (and most east asia) and the Arab and muslim world entirely (turkey is exampt as well as Malasia sometimes).
Disclaimer: I may be wrong about specific details since they change all the time in this political game.
However! It can many times trust the support of the US and their aid (although it comes with limitations which sometimes ache alot). and it can trust Micronesia (they vote for Israel in the UN :thumbsup ). and above all - It can trust ITSELF and ITS PEOPLE.
As to all the other disputes about political parameters and agendas - its irellevant. It does'nt matter if someone will come and say "you have no right to..." or "Israel is an occupied territory...". This is all BS and matters none. For all I care its occupied from monkeys and dinosaurs and everything else its just changing hands.
Israel is at war nowadays - it has been so for quite a long time now. 55 years to be more exact. It has been so since its created and the reason its only 55 years is the fact that before that it wasn't called Israel - but the war was there.
The main reason is the location of Israel. Not anti-sematic because its a minor factor than only recently awoken. Israel is surrounded my muslim tribes that are in most fanatically religious and lead by mad dictators. The less mad ones and ok ones (Egypt/Jordan/Quwait) are therefore less enthusiest about war but still lead by the mob who has hard time accepting a different culture (that is - free/democratic/advanced).
Since this war is more dangerous towards Israelis as most of you see on CNN it matters very little what your reaction towards Israel actions are. Israel will cotinue what it is obliged to do. That is killing those who come to kill Israel/is first. It sometimes take casualties and sometime harms innocent but unlike the standard behavior and morale in the area - feels bad about it and tries to learn and avoid.
Sorry for the UK worker. His death was in vain and his pain is Israel's pain.
