Yes, but you can get a tax credit up to around $80,000, but you must be out of the US for at least 11 months usually. Still need to do a tax return regardless.

The USA owns our ass no matter where we live. It's called modern day slavery.
Though like the poster above said, you can get a 87k tax break if you are a resident or pass the physical presence test which stats you have to be abroad and earning foreign income for 300 something days. The exact number of days is slipping my mind at the moment. |

You have to file. If you make over a certain amount they happily tax it despite you having paid that tax in the country in which you earned it already.
