Female friend wants to start a solo site - help?

Greetings all

I know a girl who wants to go solo - she wants to setup her own solo pay-site with pics, vids, diary, webcam, etc. I've got all the skills and experience I need to setup and manage that kind of website myself but it would take a lot of time and my time is expensive - she can't afford to pay me to do it and all the ready-made options out there are pretty expensive.

Just wondered if anyone can suggest the best way for her to go about it? Can anyone help her out in any way? The cheapest option I've found for her is to use one of the main ready-made options and pay about $150 monthly but even that is a gamble when there's no telling how much dollar she is going to make.

If anyone can give any advice it'd be much appreciated.

I would post a pic of her but she doesn't want her pic posted on any forums or anything just yet - she hasn't yet done any porno at all.

you probably dont need a cms on a solo site. do you expect her to provide you with daily updates?

Shoot content of her as "payment" so that if she flakes or the site bombs you can at least sell it to recoup your investment.

Paying $150/mo for a turnkey CMS doesn't seem like much when you're going to have to fork out for one-offs like Visa compliance...

also dont forget that not all pay sites need to be sper dooper.

if she is average a home made site may do better.

often i look at sites made simple (not very well) gives you that true amature feel. and that could be her nich.

so apart from hosting (worth getting a dedicated server to start with rather than later). that would be her main cost.

then just get ccbill sorted out for her site and she is away.

but to be honest rather than making mistakes due to lack of experience, it would be far easer to simply add her to tac (see above post) so all she needs do is upload pics. no cost to her.

Just being honest - my mainstream business provides me with a very decent income and my rate is higher than she is in a position to pay. I could pay the relevant fees to purchase CMS licenses if I wanted to but you're right - I'm inexperienced in this field and I'm not going to throw my personal earnings at something I have little experience of, which I would only get a small chunk of the profit from anyway, even if it did succeed

Dont know that I would go with a company like them.. I have heard a couple of girls from there say they dont get paid for all the joins.
