IE 8 is too fucking slow

Slow to open IE8, Slow to be able to type in the address bar, Slow to open a new window.

Fucking lame, no real improvements, java script errors on 50% of the sites I visit. What was the point of releasing it?

Only good thing so far for me personally is it crashes less than my IE7 did, but big deal.

I always laugh at people who use IE in adult... are you people for real? With all the shady shit out there and at least 1 in the crowd looking to fuck over everyone else by having surfers download installers and dialers, I can't understand why you would use a browser that automatically allows javascript to run.

That's like thinking your fully dressed and letting it hang out in the breeze..

too many sites don't look good in firefox (or other browsers besides IE) because of the way they are built
the IE tab is no help because than it's IE - not firefox

its not IE its the addons remove google toolbar and any other addons you may have. same applies to firefox.

Ive already fixed many issues on paysites and scripts caused by IE8, but if you just want to let your surfers get errors, hey more signups for me.

That's because those sites are made wrong... in other words, they were made to look good in IE, and didn't pay attention to the other browsers, which conform to web standards.

EvilFubAr, having IE to check sites, and "using IE" are two different things. I think it's safe to say that most people in adult have IE and check their sites, but don't actually use IE for every day surfing.

yes of course, they are built wrong, most fucks in websites are CSS based - they don't use CSS 2 standards.
a lot of quirks in HTML also...
it doesn't matter, if I want to see what my surfers are seeing - I have to do it with IE because that is what most have.

personally I validate most of my sites with the HTMLTidy firefox addon but of also the html and css validators at w3.org
also IE8 seems to be going the right way with the "Developer tools" in which there are links to those same validators.

but still, in IE8 is still too bloated for my taste.
google chrom is the fastest browser I know.
use to use opera for a while but stopped using it.
use FireFox most of the time (strict JS only).
but I still use IE8 for other personal surfing.

IE8 has a much better load management engine than IE7. Opening the thing might be slow but it renders sites much much faster which is a lot more important.

If you're a proper web developer you should be using all of the browsers you can get your hands on; and regularly. The only one I don't use is Safari on a Mac, because I don't use Mac (I am buying one because I think it's important for my mainstream sites too and their audio productions suite is pretty awesome - even though I think a lot of Mac users are wanks).

IE is the base browser that most of your surfers use before they become aware of the other ones... until they get told about a better browser, which is often years, they're going to use the stock out-of-the-box software... often not even updated with patches etc.

You should always build your sites to work on at least IE, Firefox, Opera and Chrome. I have never found any issues with compliance or a work around for any problem in my development.

Speaking of which I'm going to start offering a help page on my sites for surfers to get the latest in browsers, codecs and other such related software.

Just because we are in adult it doesn't mean we have to use IE. At work I use FF and at home I use Safari but that doesn't mean I don't test my sites in IE, FF, Safari, etc to make sure they look and work right.

Yeah, I saw that but there were similar graphs touting IE 8.0's superiority too before it hit it's official release.....
don't get me wrong, I always hope they'll get it right, but sadly they promised the world with IE 7 and gave us more non standard code to learn, and then did the same only worse with IE 8.

It's like they develop software without actually trying it first. They just code and code and code and go "all done, release it!"

i think you have some issues with your comp, i use IE8 since some months and its very fast, you have to do some tweaks in the registry though to get the max speed out of it.
