not everyone wants to adopt a fat or deformed child.

Sad but true. People don't want to adopt an "ugly" child... but at 15, that's sort of creepy, sounds like they are trying to pimp her out...

few things are more disturbing and disgusting, yet mask themselves as being noble and good than the adoption industry. I had only had a small taste of this living in Russia and watching a whole "adoption tourism" industry spring up and seeing locals charge 20,000-50,000 in "fees" which was quite steep considering average salaries were merely in the hundreds and also considering that in the US or wherever, there is also an agency charging their fees on top of this.

I created an adoption hoax site where the premise was that you could adopt foreign kids for their "non-essential organs" - i.e. maybe you need an inner ear, eye transplant, bone marrow, liver lobe, intestines etc. The reaction was intense. The reaction from adoption agencies was completely unexpected. All of them "concerned" at how it might affect their business and many voiced the concerned that it could be taken for being real. My reply was "well... if there is any real chance that it could be thought to be real... and you, so nobly stand up and fight for children and to make their lives better.. then maybe the world SHOULD be talking about this thing". Everyone was concerned about the bottom line.

Then i started looking at adoption sites... search by race, religion, sex and other physical attributes. You would think it was used car sales.

Its all very disturbing and peoples intentions on all sides are definitely not noble at all. the ugly truth of it all is that its a massive industry that makes serious money for all those who "broker" the transactions.

honestly, i don't think that's fucked up. think of it from the adoptive parent's point of view. you want to have a child, let's say you and your partner are physically unable to have a child of your own. maybe you'd like a child that fits you. afterall, you are taking this kid into your life to raise for the next who knows how many years. you think anyone would adopt if it was just a giant baby vending machine, and you got whatever baby was next up on the block? i know if i went in to adopt, i wouldn't be looking for the fat chinese kid. not because he's fat or chinese, but because I am neither. don't you want your children to grow up to be smart, attractive, and successful?

I dunno.. to me it was like they were advertising, "hey here's a slow, mildly retarded 15 year old girl who needs adopting and she's attractive too"

and considering it's WV... and the morals aren't too high there.. The cynic inside me thinks it was intentional.. I dunno.

I had discussions with him to buy it once when he let it go offline. it was very comical. it probably got like 200 hits a day or so. his reply was that it was "a brand" and a "media property" and that he couldn't consider selling it but he would sell me the rights to advertise on it for something like 15,000 for 6 months or something bizarre.

i get a lot of funny e-mails. a lot of death threats.. .and a lot of people trying to order condoms for their dogs (doggycondoms.com) or crabs (revengecrabs.com) or trade their kid for a small fishing boat (childtrader.com) and we have tons more.

Even more fucked up is somebody adopted her biological sister and left her behind at the orphanage. That is fucking sad. Real Sad...and she gets to go and visit them ? How absolutely fucking horrible. How can those people be so selfish. The only thing they had left was each other, and now they don't even have that,

I'm sure looks play a big part in adoption. Nobody will admit to it, maybe not even to themselves, but it plays a huge part I'm sure.

Countless studies show less attractive people earn less, are judged less trustworty, and get longer jail times than better looking people. It's just the way it is. People have much more positive emotions towards "attractive" people, even kids.

i noticed a few of the other "sunday's children" the descriptions seemed template driven and instead of "attractive" it said "active" in almost the exact same place , so it could be it was a typo
