I'm looking for a new virtual hosting plan and decided to do a quick comparison of plans that cost around $10 a month. So many people have helped me here at GFY I thought I'd share this info so that maybe it will help others. I decided to research the companies that seem to come up the most in hosting discussions here at GFY.

All of this info is current as of March 26, 2009. If any company listed here would like to correct the figures, offer discount codes or explain why you're better than the others even though you may not offer the most bang for the buck, please do.

In the list below after the hosting company name I have listed the monthly bandwidth, the storage space, the monthly cost and the set-up fee (a question mark means I could not determine if there is a set-up fee).

I would recommend Webair or Phatservers for this 10 buck account, and I would stay FAR away from hostgator.

Hostgator is a reliable source for low BW sites.. What have you experienced with them that turns you off?

Anyone that plans on hosting a Tube site that needs to run video conversions on any virtual account is headed for a disaster, it's just not realistic. Start out with TEVS, Nubiles, etc and embed or use the sponsor provided imports to build yourself up.
