    .tel domains

    anybody jump on this? just opened for general registration a couple hours ago. All the good ones are gone of course but i did pick up a few like Live Webcams .tel

                  I hate to break it to you, but .tel domains are not for development. You can't host sites on them. They are just an online business card type thing.

                  The only purpose of them is for people to access walmart.tel or whatever from their cellphone and the company's contact info is there.

                  A whole lot of domain buyers are going to get owned bigtime.

                      I've just checked the hottest names and nothing there.
                      I wonder if ICANN will ever stop to add new tlds, who the fuck needs them..

                          Definitely. I can see picking up a couple for speculation but something like livewebcams.tel...I can't see how that would be used.

                                  Real domainers are laughing their asses off at this extension - 10 times more than at .mobi which has crashed big time.
