    What video format for memberarea?

    What video format would you choose for a memberarea?

    I've been thinking of Xvid but it may be too complicated when members have to install the codec.

    I don't want quicktime or flash....

      Why not have flash saves bandwidth and members love not downloading.
      Anyways if you use most of the CMS out there (we use elevatedX great stuff)
      you can set several options for your surfers.
      I would have several options for them at least.

              I agree with HB, FLV for streaming. Wmv/mpg for downloading.

                  Really? I had the impression that people wanted to download the videos and not just stream them of the website.
                  But I guess both options would be the best.

                      As a customer I like good old mpg for download. I hate wmv/divx because can not fast forward/jump quickly (takes always several seconds to reach next keyframe)

                          wmv is fine because you can start to watch before you download a full movie...
